We need a list of people who play this game
Our community is small enough that I feel we should all have each other in our friends list in case we want to play.

Add me to your steam friends and I will certainly play KAG with you.

I have the game disc..bought it a long time ago but lost my cd key. Do I have to buy the digital version and just use that cd key to play online? I REALLY want to get into online battles with KAG again!

I used to have the game disk but I lost it. Just buy the steam version. Steam wont let you download the game if you haven't purchased it. Its cheap anyway.

Too bad the "community" of KAG is filled with the most elitist hardcore ♥♥♥♥♥♥ on the planet

Well it's a old game that have had a hardcore fanbase almost from the beginning. Communities tend to be that way then.
I don't have any experience with it myself because of the following reason.

K:AG is my favourite game but I only find it enjoyable in skirmish against the computer. Preferably in coop with friends against the computer. It's fantastically fun then. :)

Well this community is growing and of the people I've talked with they're all friendly and eager to get back into playing the game semi-regularly with other people. True, that core "community" hasn't really emerged but I think we've seen fantastic results.

Done. Though I won't buy it here too, I've bought the game like, three time already and I'm not a very serious and/or regular player.

Yeah I used to play with them many years ago and became a middle level player after hard work and humility...

I stopped because i didnt like the competitive mood. These people just ♥♥♥♥♥♥ me off.

I also play Kohan but not in multiplayer. There is a Kohan fansite called "The Awakening". I found out about it while looking around the Timegate forum. You might be able to find people there that want to play multiplayer. The website is kohan.chimaerica.com

My main problem for the moment is : how to permit my firewall to host a KAG game? I opened the ports required and it didnt work.

I checked out that site and it seems dead. So join our steam group Kohan Lords and you can find an ever growing list of people who play KAG or KIS or Kohan II.

Also, if you're having multiplayer problems there are work arounds. I don't know what magic you have to do to make multiplayer work through steam but all my games have worked by joining a Hamachi group. That seems the easiest way to get a multiplayer game going.

I just picked up the battlechest. I played KAG back in 2002-2003, had a lot of fun with it. Is it possible to install the community patches on the steam version of KAG, or will I need to get out my old disc and do it that way? I will get Hamachi working so I can play again, feel free to add me to your friends lists- just don't expect me to be the best player ever, I'm pretty rusty.

Yes you can and should play with the community patch using steam. I just found out that the following site lists the ports you need to open manually with your router to host. This fixes the need for hamachi. http://forums.timegate.com/showthread.php?t=11216

I tried it all... and it doesn't seem to work fine.
