Gift or Sovereign

I bought the Warchest and I'd like to play with my new toys. The only problem is, which do I install and in which order?

Through deduction, I determined that Sovereigns is the first in the series and that 'Gift' is an expansion to that (according to Wiki).

So, do I install Sovereigns and then the expansion 'Gift'?
Does 'Gift' require Sovereigns to run (or visa versa) or is 'Gift' stand alone and includes all the elements of Sovereign (thus rendering Sovereign unnecesary)?

I can't find any information on these things. Please advise. Thanks.

For anyone else that has the same question - you do not need to have KIS installed to run KAG.

But if you want to play the KIS campaign, KIS will have to be installed and run instead.

KAG is an expandalone.
