Kohan: Immortal Sovereigns

Kohan: Immortal Sovereigns

Really hard and difficult game.
So the premise of the game sounded really great and I highly enjoy the mechanics, it's truly unique and entertaining. It's a lot more tactical than I anticipated.

But holy ♥♥♥♥ I am getting my♥♥♥♥♥kicked so much, I can't beat the first mission on medium, so I tried on easy but I still loose. It's really hard.

I meant the second mission.

Yes second mission was really difficult. Try to defend and slowly build up your forces first. Try to get your main hero to level up to accendences (however it is spell). Set him to engage mode. Build to able 3 groups then use them to slowly attack. I try like 4times before i beat that mission
Yeah, at first I captured several towns and destroyed some lairs, I was really excited. But suddently the enemy invaded from all sides and I was unable to properly defend my people. Also with only one town you can only build two companies which is barely enough.

I tried it several times, thanks for the help. What do you mean by accendences? What spells?

Also the enemies just has superior numbers, it's just overwhelming. For one unit, 3 enemy units follow.

The only way I was able to get through KIS was by using some guides from a Kohan fansite called "The Awakening". kohan.chimaerica.com
Also, slowing the speed of the game until I got more familiar with gameplay helped too. Just remember to increase the speed as you become more experienced with the game so your not at a disadvantage if you join a multiplayer game.
I wish I could find a similar guide for "Kohan: Ahriman's Gift" and "Kohan II: Kings of War" because I've only gotten, maybe, a quarter of the way through those games.

when you click your hero protrait, you can see his level. Try to make him till Ascended. He will be most powerful at that level. Maybe you can try this. I beat that level by going to south and take over the first town. Dont go to the second town yet. After which i got 3 group and travel north to take over the north drauga town. And i station there, Enemy army will keep coming once you got that town. Stay there and defend. With 3 group you have a chance. if possible get four. After a while you will get a hang of it of how to defend against them. And stay together near the town. If any of your troops are dying, use the retreat mode. I also did try to lure them to my town and use my town army to engage them.
Thanks for the input, I played a few online matches with a friend and got quite familiar with the games. I did a lot better the last time I tried the mission. It's just unusual how the difficulty curve just skyrockets in the second mission.

I nearly did it like you daniel.

Another great wy to beat the mission is to fortify with outposts. Build Outposts at chocke-points like at the southern end of the lake and leave 1 company there. It took me 3 tries to beat the mssion, but once you have all the towns on the eastern side of the map it's easy to finish.
Actually the mission is quite easy if you go to the towns near the sea. If you approach the enemy directly you will experience a heavy beating. Still it's very unexpecting to be beaten that hard by directly approaching them.
Cause of the minor choice of army units? :D

But it is an awesome game, I should buy a digital copy too...

Just spend like 3 hours on it dude. If you try to build or ♥♥♥♥ around its over, they will ovedr whelm. You have to rush! It old school game, that means theres a system. I kept replaying until I knew where each base is. Just like old C&C, have to learn the map through trial and error. Dont even dream of beating levels ont he first or second try. Love it. Spend all money on building army, do not attack the nests. Only take out the bases. Start north, then west, then north again, then south west. Each time sieze the base, no upgrades, just hold it to heal then spend money on more army. There is a mtn range that will separate the main chief in far west. Once you hold whole map but there build up all those bases you got and get armys ready for final show down. Great map.

Bingo, if you listen to the advise he tells you the route to take, even hints not to hesitate.

Btw, it's important to get clerics in your army. 2 of them can make a battle a lot easier.

It really is challenging but mix it up. What worked for me was building a second company with some clerics. That allowed me to hold my own and slowly push and build. Takes a lot of econ management too once you get 2-3 bases.
