Windows .NET
So I know on windows this game is using .net + DX9, and for linux/mac I would assume no .net and OpenGL instead and c++?. So wondering.. Why not drop .Net and use a single code base for all platforms with OpenGL rendering and C code whatever.

Just wondering the your perspective on this other then it may introduce new bugs on the windows platform with such new code base.

Yeah, that's true, the game could just be OpenGL on Windows as well. However the DirectX version of the game is quite stable and works well, so there's not much point going through doing OpenGL on Windows and going through all the bugs and what not.
