How to Get Illfonic to Act Like a REAL Company
My friends,

I believe that it is officially time to revoke Illfonic of all of it's pride and worthiness. We paid to play, what was and will be remembered as an awesome game, Nexuiz. The game at its finest was one of the best First Person Shooter games I have ever played. Now, the game is dead. Illfonic has abandoned the game and has not given any sort of official press release or social media update on the situation between them and THQ. I understand that legalities need not be spread through the internet, but for the thousands of paying customers of a game they put their name behind is ruthless and BAD BUSINESS.

We are living an era where the internet can do justice. If you believe you were wronged, please, do not hesitate to check out Illfonic's Better Business Bureau page below.

They need to know that the customers and fans of Nexuiz are serious and need to know that their customers are more than upset. If you feel like you have been wrong, let them know in the most vivid way possible.

Below are links to their social media pages, and website presence. Do let them know how angry their customer base is.

The THQ situation SHOULD no longer be an issue... Let's get our ♥♥♥♥ing game back.

Yea bro they basically kind of ♥♥♥♥ed us. I understand the whole THQ issues and what not but the least they could do is give us some sort of update as to what the current situation is. At one point I even remember reading just a few months ago that they were going to try to get the servers back up on PC, but it seems the Nexuiz forums have been deleted. I mean ♥♥♥♥ at the very least release it open source and let the community revive it (if even possible with all the THQ shennaniguns)

The fact that you can't even play it in offline bot mode is a real smack in the nuts. It's just simply unplayable. And we paid for it. We SHOULD get a refund, or some sense of direction from Illfonic.

EVEN worse, it looks like they are working on a new game (some mmorpg) - so I would pretty much assume that any hope for Nexuiz should be abandoned. They seemed like some cool dudes but in the end this really is kind of a load of crap. Game devs so easily screw consumers over and nothing is ever done about it. I think the best way to deal with this is avoid buying their new game until we get an official statement

EDIT: Oh and BBB is a load of crap lol don't even bother writing a review on there. That website is about as valid as my college diploma. I say we all send support tickets to Steam demanding a refund. Also I believe I have one of the developers on my friends list, I'll try to get in touch with him and see what the deal is

Steam gave me a generic "check the support page" response to my ticket. I responded again, will keep you update

If they could just hand the game over to the community and make it f2p we could do the rest... They don't need to invest money into it, we can host our own damn servers if that's what it takes. I don't see how they are legally binded to not somehow put the game back on the market...

I support F2P Nexuiz.

The landscape change anyway, there's few alternatives to increase the playerbase other than by making acquisition free and tweak dynamics to get people paying for convenience within games.

Some people really don't understand how the world works.

If they aren't going to do as much as removing authentication to allow play via dedicated servers or make the game functional offline with bots I feel in rare cases such as these we reserve the right to issue a chargeback without our account being suspended since there is literally no other avenue.

Everyone could likely do a chargeback if we explained the situation to Steam support and had someone competent enough to review the ticket and make an appropriate decision. I don't get why the need to suspend the account, why not remove access to only the game or subscription for pending disputes until a decision is made. Steam support is so horrible in most cases there is no way they aren't some boiler room operating out of India or the Phillipines.

Currently we are stuck with a game we can't launch or play since it crashes immediately.

Pretty good business for them i suppose. Make cheap quick game, sell and month after that just shut down servers so nobody can play. Those who made this game are scubags and scammers, plain and simple. Next time no quick purchasing. Too risky to just buy something with all these scammers and alpha-never-to-be-released on steam stuff.

yep!

With the kind of business practices prevailing in the industry, it's best to wait for a 75% off sale or better. I actually work for my money.

you can't blame illfonic it wasn't their fault their publisher THQ went bankrupt and killed the game. THQ still owns the IP in legal terms so untill illfonic can't do anything untill the copyrights are transfered back to kedhrin and his team who's only mistake was making a bad ♥♥♥ game and letting somebody else sell it for them

yep pretty much...last i heard the team lead from illfonic posted some blurbs on twitter n fb about trying to get it back from THQ so that they could further develop it and rerelease but that was like a year ago so who knows if it'll ever happen :/

Valve should as a nice gesture issue refunds to anyone with this game in their library that requests a refund. Either that or something is done to get the game functional. Currently we are left with a game in our library that is non-functional even in offline mode as it immediately crashes upon launching,

there is a workaround for this if you temporarily disable your internet connection within windows it is very playable (offline) ;)

They should give the
whole control to the steam community so the User can play it for free and make it run online
