"OMFG the Choppahs are aaaarg so hard to fly"
"OMFG LOL ALOT the Ravaged choppahs are broken kthx"
Man.. some of these comments I get.

The Ravaged choppahs are perfect! So I decided to make my own quick&dirty unedited choppah tutorial.

Enjoy ;-)

best way is to open a local server on your PC.
* if your PC can handle running a server and play on it of course. *
1. open ravaged
2. open console
3. type "open map_name" lets say i want to play on Rooftop with Thrust game mode so you type "open Thrust_Rooftop"
4. open console again and add "Show FPS" to see that your game is running on at least 60+ FPS

Good Job B, this was a good idea.
Now get out there noobs and don't loose hope.
Just cause you're still crashing and burning doesn't mean you suck.
You will get there, that is when you've tweeked your settings just so.
And have learned to respect the stick, each heli flys and feels different.

I definitely recommend learning to fly the Little Bird first as it's more forgiving and then learn to fly the Gyrocopter. Boserup isn't kidding when he says the Gyrocopter is more sensitive, but once you learn to fly both types, you'll probably enjoy the Gyrocopter more as you can do more crazy maneuvering with it. *LOL*

Also, learn to fly around and then land on the ground without crashing. Once you get that down, try landing on a helipad. It's not too hard using Little Bird but for the Gyrocopter, be sure to keep your nose going forward a little bit. Landing while going backwards or sideways it'll tip over and blow up, and if you're going forward to quickly it will flip over and blow up as well.

Just keep practicing and you'll get better. However, I don't recommend flying around at a low altitude like Boserup was doing in the video in a real game. If you do you won't live long because they're made of paper and even small arms fire can blow it up very quickly.

the actual task of flying the machines is not very difficult.

the hard part is setting up the controls so that the slightest movements don't throw you to the ground while at the same time making it sensitive enough to make sharp turns when you have to...

still, even when you get the settings all perfect to the point where you can fly as easily as drive; sometimes that chopper just decides to fall out of the sky on it's own. i don't care what anybody says, it's true...

after many attempts on my first day playing the game i can happily say that i can at least lift the chopper off the ground and go airborne for about 30 seconds before becoming "one" with the mountains.... or the ground.... or the statue of liberty

im not joking... im terribly proud of those few airborne seconds
