compelled by tiptoe around
My inital thoughts on the game were amazing. I love the feel of the engine. Upon getting a little more into the game i find it's very unforgiving.
I know you're going to hate hearing this but i feel like i'm constantly just inching through the game trying to balance the edge between when they see me and when i see them and trying to shoot them. It feels like it's so precise, that i can't actually just enjoy the game and play on. Constant battle does me fine. Avoiding bullets and spinning around is a LOT of fun. Unfortunately this doesn't happen much as combos of way too many people shooting and no area to go to avoid bullets or else laser turrets make it a peek around the cornor and fire and peek back continual style play throughout the game.

Getting jumped a few times as a surprise is alright but making it consistent where you just KNOW whenever you go forward or go to hack/unlock something, the game is going to spawn a living hell around you and lock your exit isn't exactly fun. If the enemies would stop snipering you before you can even see them (laser shots) and have it more based on time than precision, i'd probably find a lot more fun to play.

I hear ya, but the game was designed as hardcore to begin with. The damage caused by player's weapons decreases with the distance. So it's a good idea to annihilate enemies in close range combat as they will die faster :)

There is Arcade difficulty, which has slightly weaker enemies that die faster.

The A.I. is rather sophisticated and isn't relying on patters like bullethell shooters. So precision and reaction are the keys. Learning strengths and weaknesses of each weapon is a key too.

There is Weapon Pack DLC that adds Booster, Repair gun and Advanced beam. You can maneuver much faster using it thus it helps to avoid being hit as often.

Also I'd recommend using obstancles to your advantage.

Glad that you like it though :)
