game uses secondary monitor instead of primary
On my three monitor system, this game uses the wrong one (which isn't set up for gaming).

Display #1 is a 1280x1024 DVI LCD (primary)
Display #2 is a 1600x1200 VGA CRT (game uses this one)
Display #3 is a 1280x1024 VGA LCD

Games should either offer an option for which display to use, or use the primary display; some other buggy games at least allow me to switch to windowed mode, move it to the correct display, and switch back to fullscreen, but I don't seem to be able to do that with this one.

I don't like playing games in a window.

I'm having exactly the same problem. At first I thought the game hadn't started, but then I turned my second monitor on, and sure enough, it was there full screen. Why it started on that monitor instead of the main one I have no idea. No other game does this.

For me it always runs on the primary monitor. If I go to desktop "display settings", I can choose to make either monitor "my main display", and that's where the game opens.
I don't know why the game would choose the secondary display.

Only a small number of games have this behaviour.

Perhaps the programmer doesn't understand the concept of primary displays and is instead using whichever display happens to be listed first during enumeration, or he's using a toolkit with an API which selects the wrong display by default, or he's trying to be "clever" by selecting the "most suitable" monitor (e.g. the one with the largest pixel area), or he's just made a simple programming mistake and failed to test on enough multi-monitor configurations. All of these are bugs if there's no way for the user to override the display selection.

Most such games can be persuaded to use the correct display (e.g. by switching to windowed mode, dragging the window to the correct display, and switching back to fullscreen). Not this one, though!

Is it a Unity game? It's a common problem for unaware devs using Unity.

"-adapter N" where N is the screen number you want the game to start
"-show-screen-selector" which should give you an interface to choose a screen from
"-screen-fullscreen 0" should start a window you can move around with windows hotkeys

The current version of the game runs on the the correct primary display for me.
