have you tried windowed mode?
Rapid Mar 21, 2013 @ 2:01pm
Yes. Nor the -window, nor the -720window solved the problem. I have an AMD Radeon HD7870, 8GB RAM and an AMD Phenom X4 9750 with Windows 7 x64. All level is black at start and after death, until the first grav-well shot.

I have never heard of this bug before. Do you have the most up to date drivers for your graphics card?
Rapid Mar 21, 2013 @ 2:26pm
Yes, it's the latest non-beta driver. Catalyst 13.1.
I have a LED TV attached to my system through HDMI. Maybe this cause the problem?

Edit:
Nope. I disconnected the TV, but the problem is still persist.

The only thing I can suggest is to disable any monitor you have beyond 1, and you could try setting your desktop resolution to 1280x720. Honestly If neither of those work I am not sure I will be able to help you because I can't even reproduce your problem.

If you can't get it working Steam will refund you. Though it is less than 75 cents right now, but there should be no problem getting a refund from them.

I'm sorry I couldn't help you any more than this.

I'll keep trying to fix the problem and will let you know if I found anyting. BTW, I don't want a refund, because the game is still playable, and I like it and wanted to buy it a long time ago. It's just a little wierd to shot one at the start of every level. Like I need to turn on the light. :)

I also get this problem. I'm using a Radeon HD6400 and I have my computer hooked up to a tv.

Same problem here... I use only a normal monitor and have a Radeon HD6500.

Tried -window -720window nothing works, I also have Catalyst 13.1

Yeah, same problem here with a Radeon HD 6670

This is so strange, I have never heard of this bug before and this game has been out for 3 years now. It must be new in the last year. I have a few ideas on how to fix it but I don't know if I am setup to push updates to Steam anymore. I may be able to try and get it all setup again and try to fix it in early May.

I'm sorry guys but I just don't have enough time right now to get it all setup to push the update. Fortunately this doesn't sound like a super critical bug since you have gravity wells in basically every level of the game. If you just hold d down at the start of the first level and keep pressing w you should get to a point where you can see very quickly.

Same here. Radeon HD 6250.

Same here, Radeon HD 6850 with Catalyst 13.1.

Same problem here: Radeon HD 5770 + Catalyst 13.1.

Edit: Radeon HD 7850 + Catalyst 13.4 still doesn't work. :(

Also having this issue with a Radeon 6950. I've noticed everyone posting here has a Radeon card. Is it possible there's a correlation?

I have a Radeon HD 5800 series and I do not have this problem so I am still not sure what is going on.
