[suggestion] Shorten the Splatter TV to only succesful parts
Splatter TV is very nice, but as it is, it shows the full attempt by the person, including the dozen of times he retries before achieving the actual score.

In my opinion, it would probably be better if it showed only the successful rounds. When I want to see what the best score did, I want to be impressed by the performance, not spend 10 minutes while he tries to make it perfect and restarts round aftr round. It breaks a bit the illusion of the perfect run, and it lasts way too long, because of that.

We cannot really do that since we can only record and play full runs. You still have the fast-forward option (F on keyboard or A on gamepad) to skip through retries.

Also, as more and more people join Splatter TV, you will start to see that only the ones with the best moves reach the top scores.

And lastly, if you look at Combo Rush events, you will see only great performances because there, as opposed to Freestyle, you are scored for high combos and minimum fails (so top scorers really have great non-stop shows).

The current replay system works fine in combo rush events but it doesn't work for master shots events, especially the harder ones. Surely there has to be a way to enable skipping failed attempts even if takes some work. Right now I just don't bother watching replays because it's a pain.

I understand that this the way it is programmed. However, it didn't seem to be a big issue to cut around fixed checkpoints which are resetting the game state anyway. But then again, I haven't seen the code, so I can't say. :P In theory it sounded doable.

I can't really fast forward through retries, as I don't know when the "good run" is coming.

I understand that with more people climbing the leaderboards, the top ones will have better moves... but it won't change the issue. High scores are rarely a "one time" thing (especially when there is no penalty for retrying in some modes). They are the result of someone trying again and again to make a perfect run.

So yes, they will include a lot of retrying, which will make the replay much longer, and less pleasant to watch. It's a bit of a pity.

What about setting jump points at the beginning of each try.

I don't know the technical point, but I guess, you record the exact times of the input and resimulate everything while watching Splatter TV. Would it be possible to speed this up in the background, that we can jump to these jump points (which could maybe be flagged with their score and success)?
