Would you play Saints Row 2 before Saints Row 4 ?
Should I buy Saints Row 2 and 3 before I play 4?

If you get 2 get the gentelmen of the row mod it make the game better, one last thing SR2 plays diffrent than 3 and 4 so watch some gameplay to makeup your mind i personally love this one the most.

Yes. 2 is not only the best one in the series but IMO one of the best sandbox games of all time. Although it's not particularly pretty, and the driving is terrible, it's fun as hell. It's a much more different game than SR4. Also, SR4 contains a lot of cameos from 2 and 1. Keith David's presence is one big fat reference to the first game. Benjamin King was in SR2. And SR2 has the best mix of action, violence and comedy. Where SR4 falls short on the violence aspect, SR2 delivers. It's much more of a spiritual successor to GTA San Andreas, in terms of the tone of the game.

though i heard the pc port sucks the big one

SR 2 is much different to SR 3 and that is even different then SR 4. There is a good story line that follows along but you can play SR 4 and then SR 2 and still have the same enjoyment then playing it in order

It was an Xbox 360 exclusive. I'm guessing MS still owns the rights to it, otherwise they would have ported it.

Yeah its a damn shame i would love SR1 on PC and the multiplayer was fantastic.

Get SR3 and SR4 first, then play SR2 on Xbox (I REALLY mean it, get it on Xbox, don't ever buy SR2 for PC, the port is one of the worst I've ever seen).

But you can simply not play SR3 and SR4 at all and simply play only SR1 and SR2. Believe me, you won't lose much (but that's arguable).

It is exclusive to Xbox 360, but if you got the game, you'll see that it doesn't say "Only on Xbox 360", because it was meant to come to PS3 too, but in the end they scrapped it. Microsoft doesn't own the rights to it. Still, the first one is pretty bad.
