Which SR Is the BEST?!

I have SR3 and SR4, and I saw that SR3 was better, is SR2 better or no? I saw that it was bigger then Steelport.

Your mileage may vary. Depends on what you like. Stillwater is bigger than Steelport. More vehicles, more types of people, etc. Different types of challenges. I've played and enjoyed 2, 3 and 4; but my personal favorite is 3, maybe because I played it before the others. Anyway, whichever one they perfer, I think that anyone who has played and enjoyed one of them will enjoy all of them.

SR2 has some of the humor. It's still over the top, but it doesnt wave a giant floppy dildo in your face the way SR3 does. It also actually has a decent storyline that doesn't feel utterly contrived.

Agree with the above comments, Saints Row 2 is so much better than the others. SR3 and SR4 just went overboard and stupid, in an effort to attract as much attention as possible.

SR2 has a world that's serious and consistent enough that the over-the-top humour when it does occur, just works. SR3/SR4 to me, since everything is over-the-top it means nothing is, the world is so surreal and fake that it all blends together to me.

The other thing SR2 does that works so well is the consistency - the character is just as much of a sociopath in the cutscenes as they are when you're controlling them. I think they toned it down in the later games from what I read, not sure why though.

I've heard the SR2 PC version isn't that great and can retire mods to work properly, though.

and of course the fact that you can turn some serious moments in to pure laughter by having you character look ridiculous

Yeah. Having your character giving a speech while looking like the unholy spawn of the joker and the riddler tends to result in much amusement.

SR2 - BEST

SR and SR2 are the best in the series with S3 being merely average. SR4, by itself, is an okay game but is terrible when compared to the previous games. The people above me gave good explanations as to why this is so.

SR1 - Haven't played it much, only at a friends and it's a good game

SR2 - My favorite when it comes to, the city, AI of NPCs, customization on clothes, the gangs and the orignal psychopathic boss

SR3 - Lease favorite of all the games, dull missions, terrible story, dull city, sex jokes all around, dull and glitchy AI, 80% terrible clothing DLC and 2 crap mission DLC packs (Attack of the clones was ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ terrible and Gangstas in space was only good for the rewards) and a decent one (Genkibowl is fun and has great rewards), and not as fun or rememberable as SR2

SR4 - My favorite when it comes to, the weapons, weapon customization, vehicles, Sci-fi jokes and DLC (Like Commander and Cheif and Pirate pack).

SR2 and SR4 are my favorite SR games, both for diffirent reasons, sadly people from either side bash each other until no tormmrow, however I feel like I'm the only guy who likes both just as much

Now waiting for Gat out of Hell, looks like a lot of fun.

THey are all pretty fun games, with SR2 seeming to have the most loyal fans and the most play time. It all depends on what you are looking for as not every person is the same.

The reason I like SR2 the most is that there is just so much more to it. More stories, more characters that are fleshed out, more customization especially with the player character, more side missions, a more "alive" feeling city.. All around a much more memorable game in the long run. Kind of like how many people still like GTA San Andreas the most in the GTA series and think it was the best game of that series.

Also, I do not like how SR3 and SR4 are basically expensive DLC fests. I didn't even buy SR3 and SR4 until the "complete" editions came out on a steam sale. But I'm just one of those old school gamers that thinks a game should be "complete" from the beginning and have "expansions" later on.

So SR2 still gets my vote for the best... Though SR4 was fun in a blatent knockoff of spiderman and prototype and the matrix kinda way.

Here on Steam SR:TT is better than SR2 by a large margin. In my view SR:TT is the best 3rd person shooter EVER (again, here on Steam, at the moment) closely followed by Mafia and Mafia II. There's a lot of things you can do apart from main story and it's very satisfying. And the story is okay to say the least. Maybe story in SR2 is a bit better than SR3/4 but technical issues are killing it. Also game looks almost black and white, very bleak. I like even GTA3 more than SR2 because at least I can play it without lags every 2 seconds (also I like to import nice custom car skins into GTA3/VC). And SR IV as just a big DLC for SR:TT.

1 and 2 are the best in the series pretty much after sr2 they got the idea that people only liked the game because of its crazyness so they took out any seriousness and just made it stupid.
