There are a few issues that need to be highlighted regarding Soulstorm before I begin listing the positive aspects of this game. First off, the game has a lot of issues with loading, particularly with the campaign. Though I'll readily admit that my computer isn't a good one, the general concensus is that no game should keep you waiting as long as the Soulstorm Campaign does, so have a book or handheld system by your side if you intend to play the campaign. Secondly, as I'm sure a good chunk of you know, most of the voice acting for the Campaign mode is absolutely terrible, but this isn't a major issue as much as it is a gripe (most of the issues regarding the game come from the campaign).
Now, on to the postives.
This expansion adds two new factions to play as, the Sisters of Battle and Dark Eldar, both of which are welcome additions to the game. Both bring new strategies to the table, as well as giving you a better look at the 40k universe (I say this because Dawn of War is most people's gateway to Warhammer 40,000). The gameplay is still solid (though of course balance is still a major issue), because few expansion packs can really mess up gameplay.
And last but not least, the real reason you should purchase this game: The mods.
There are dozens of amazing mods for Soulstorm, from ambitious gameplay overhauls like Titanium Wars and Ultimate Apocalypse, to new factions (complete with voice acting) like the Armageddon Steel Legion and Tyranids. If you're not sure about getting Soulstorm, do it for the mods.
