Jamestown Plus
Will the content newly announced for PS4 make its way to the PC version as well?

For those who don't know, Jamestown Plus has been announced for the Playstation 4, it has new content and is coming this summer: http://blog.us.playstation.com/2014/04/30/jamestown-plus-coming-to-ps4-this-summer/

I'm also interested in the "definitive, be-all, end-all, director’s cut, remastered, extended edition of the game". For PC of course. I don't mind consoles, but the current generation has nothing that interests me.

This better come out as a free upgrade for PC or as a DLC at least (I'd gladly pay for the upgrade)...

It'd be a good time to add trading cards if updated, wink wink!

I was surprised to see any news about Jamestown at all since the developer's website and twitter hasn't had any activity in ages. I also hope we get the upgraded version on PC for a reasonable price. I haven't been able to find any other shmups in a long time that are nearly as satisfying.

I love what FTL did with free "advanced edition" upgrade... however, I would gladly pay for Jamestown "Plus" DLC if it helped bring it to PC!!! :D

I'd be willing to buy this. Would give me reason to play the game again :3

I sent the developers a tweet and asked them about this yesterday: https://twitter.com/Foamed1/status/461655735500562432

@Foamed1 We honestly haven't decided anything about PC yet. Making a rad game that takes full advantage of PS4 is our total focus right now.

I don't know whether I want to live in a world where I can't play the final version of jamestown on my PC.

That'd be a dreadful place indeed.

I hope Final Form will consider bringing the new content to PC when they're done with the PS4 version; I'd happily put down some cash for an expansion. Jamestown has been like an old friend in my library for years now - one of those games I play infrequently, but that I always, somehow, end up coming back to, and that I'm always enjoying the experience of playing.

Full advantage of the PS4? I fail to understand this statement. Probably a marketing thing, since the PS4 isn't anything special and is outperformed by any high end PC =/

Let me try to translate this statement into proper English:

"Making a rad game that takes full advantage of PS4 is our total focus right now"

translates to

"Making a game that makes it through the console developer's ridiculous quality certification process so we don't have to patch it afterwards for an ungodly amount of money payable to said developer and certify the darn thing all over again is what scares the crap out of us right now."

After all I've read about the FEZ save bug patching incident on the Xbox 360 and the Luftrausers console certification process I feel with you, Final Form. Take your time, test thoroughly, and you'll be fine.

Your comment is totally ignorant and irrelevant to the topic.

Neither Sony nor Microsoft demands developers to pay to patch their games anymore. Microsoft removed that more than a year ago, so that mindset is outdated.

To a very limited extent it might be useful to speculate on the developer's workload or possible content exclusivity deals as it brings Jamestown to the PS4 inasmuch as those factors affect whether or not we will see that content here, but let's be careful not to turn this thread into a console versus PC fight, please.

Ok, I didn't know about that. Sorry for my previous comment, edited for the sake of forum peace.

That has never been my intention.
