Map Editing/Creation
I've got some ideas for some maps that I'd like to realize but I haven't had any luck tracking down a map editor. I'd like to create some single player maps with heavily entrenched AI enemies that the player must attack and subdue. Any suggestions?

there is a map editor somewhere that i saw a few weeks ago, but it was either non-downloadable, or costed like $25. I've had the same idea forever, but i haven't faound a practical map editor

There is a map editor, and it is free.
I just don't have a clue where it is.

Try googling on some good search terms, I guess.

There is an Editor and you can get it here:
http://supremecommander.filefront.com/file/SupCom_Map_Editor;79975

However I could not get it to run yet. You need to copy it into this Folder:
X:\Steam\SteamApps\common\Supreme Commander Forged Alliance\bin

But after that i get some error that looks like it tries to get Data from the CD. So it may not work with the Steam Version. But maybe you guys can manage to make it useable.

Ok the same site offers a download of an Inofficial MapEditor that seems to work:

Thanks! I'll give it a whirl and let you know how it goes.

Watch out with the unofficial editor. It doesn't support placing certain items on maps (like wreckage).

Hi all I have managed to get the official map editor working with the steam version of Fa however there are no brushes available in the terrain hight brush window. I have been able to add a comunity made brushes pack but this only gives cracks and stuff like that. Im assuming i can make my own brushes, but am not sure how to go about this as I cannot save to raw formats in my paint program (or not that i can find at least).

I'm sure I'm missing something simple, but as my skills lie more in audio than visual Im at a loss as to where to start.

To the guys struggling to get the map editor to load, remeber It goes in sup com 1 game folder not Fa, and for me, I had to run as admin before it would start.

Im wondering if the steam version has the brush files in a differrent location or dousnt have them. but I'm only guessing (this the first map i have ever attempted apart from some i did on the 360 but those editors were built into the game and required no previos experience.)

If anyone can help Im desparate to learn, and have tried everything i can think off.

thanks all.
