Can supreme commander FA be played on a MAC platform?
Accidentally downloaded FA as a windows game on my MAC ... is there any way I can get it to work?

is there a way to get my money back

the system requirements clearly say "windows" so it's your personal problem if you dont read them, you can try steam support

you can use 'wine' to play the game, but it does not support mac natively.

Also - a guy named 'paulthetall' has developed a wrapper that supports it on intel based macs for steam versions, though there may be issues with invisible units on some ATi cards.

instructions here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pZHmQwrkw4Y

You will not get a refund from steam if you bought the windows only version. It is clearly stated as windows only.

Hope you get it working.

ps that fix works for the steam version - just tried in on my imac.

it works in wine yes but (hehe) multiplayer does only work on FAF then

what a shame. you can play other steam users on mac too though with the wrapper but i dont think you can play mac versus pc - correct me if i'm wrong

in fact the wrapper works much better than the wine version (its faster) follow the video link

steam does not accept hosted game from both either mac or linux
this has also been discussed hundreds of times, you can play with wine a wrapper or what ever over local lan and likely vnp but you cant do it with steam

hf trying it if you again dont belive me

The game runs via wineskin and as tested - mac to mac works fine, there is just no way to tell in the lobby who is on what though. If you know who is playing and what the game is, it is straight forward - just don't expect to be joining PC games - i just didn't try it.

You CAN play multiplayer over the net simply by using hamachi on the macs and creating a vpn tunnel. Set up a LAN game. Everyone on the same VPN will see all machines as if they were on LAN but they will infact be online.

Do you want me to draw you a picture?

gfy. I saw it, I was actually helping the person by explaining that it DOES work and that they CAN play mulitplayer, and also explained WHAT to use. I have also tested it to ensure it works, and it does. Let the mac user decide what they find helpful. Why are you so negative all the time sheppard - you acted like mac users are diseased, just like steam users eh? Go troll yourself KC

Ever been told you are a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ bag ... obviously you didnt read that I downloaded it accidentally. Otherwise I wouldnt have posted anything about trying to get it to work. I would venture to say you show find a new hobby besides sitting at home on your computer just waiting to give someone a hard time.... I'm sure you are getting no where fast with that attitude.
