Delete Google Desktop
Delete Logitech Cam 's driver (with Driver Sweeper)
Add Direct X 9.0c ( even if you have 10 / 11 version)
don't forget to use compatible mode / admin use

I do not know in SC1 but in SCFA if you have enabled multi monitor, you need to go back to a single monitor again, or use it as multimonitor in a real vga card, it worked for me SC2.

@sheppard stop hi jacking real bug issues - If someone has a problem with the game installing FAF will NOT solve it. FAF is not a driver confilct sorting device or magic bug solver Stop pushing FAF so much - I get were you are coming from but why come on steam to dis steam users all the time. Give genuine helpful advice or don't bother. All you seem to be doing is making everyone go on steam to find fixes. well done.

@iB.sk1t4 If you want help getting the game to work, just give some more information like what system you have, what OS, what graphics card and people may bother to help you. Also try to explain exactly what happens.

if you scroll down, you see that i am right, for the simple reason that steam uses a partly broken exe and did not fix it for about 1 year, dont questions things you dont understand

erm I understand that my steam copy works fine - as does 98% everyone else playing on here - which points to something people are doing differently or have installed as an extra. Do not answer things you do not know.

I dont use compatibility mode, I don't need to keep wiping my prefs, I use sorian and many other mods and I dont use FAF.

Seems to me most of the people that have an issue are doing something rather familiar - having problems with a certain thing they use that causes problems. hmmm...

I had the 2 disk copies before that and if you will notice on things like filefront and the vault - I have been playing since the game was released - and making maps and mods. I just bought the steam version recently because I don't like using disks anymore and find the match making system fine, the chat fine and also the community fine. What I did try when gpgnet got removed was something called FAF which you keep raving about, but we had nothing but issues with it and little or no support. Then steam came along and when all seemed stable I bought it again. As steam does what it says on the tin and we have no problems at all setting up matches and playing matches or chatting in matches, we decided to stick with it. What I don't understand is why you insist that every issue is to do with steam. Most issues are to do with the original game, and most people having problems on here are on FAF. I put 1 and 1 together and made 2.

Everyone else can decide for themselves. This is not a childish tete-a-tete as you seem to think, I am just stating facts as they are for me and quite a few of my friends. If someone has a problem, I try to help. You seem to just put 'go on FAF' as a solution to everything. It's not the only solution. Besides what you are doing is the equivelant of going on to an apple forum and raving about windows. Its a little daft and pointless on Steam forums. If you can help people with an issue then fine, if you are just trying to drum up traffic to FAF count me out thanks.

A lot of the problems people have been having have been in the game since day dot. Before FAF and before steam. When it comes to the steam exe, the steam version is different to the original - It has to be to remove the gpgnet link which is no longer supported. It isn't broken. It does however cause issues with FAF, but thats got nothing to do with me as I DONT WANT TO USE FAF and quite frankly don't need to!

And as for time honoured service johnny 3 years - I think I out rank you somewhat, so don't pull the 'ah you weren't there back then' nonsense. Grow up, be useful or butt out.

I am finally commenting on these discussions because someone keeps putting 'go on FAF' every damn where as the answer to all problems, even if its a sound driver issue. Erm Hello?

Try supporting the FAF members that can't get a jack diddly to run before you go swamping forums with nonsense. Then come back when you eat the entire pie of humbleness
