SC: FA Crashes!

FA seems to crash everytime 30 min in the game, or less. I've tried the 3 GB enabler and the Large Adress Aware but that didn't work.

My specs are:

OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit
Processor: Intel i7-3820 CPU @ 3.60 Ghz (8 CPU's)
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce 660 Ti Superclocked.
Memory: 12288 MB (weird? as I have 4x4 GB RAM?)

I've tried the following:

1. 4 GB Patch
2. Lowering grafical settings
3. Large Adress Aware patch.
4. Play on tiny map with 1 AI ( 5x5 Easy AI)

Still, it crashes, here is my crash report from SC1 itself:

Could anyone PLEASE help me?! I really wanna play this game, and I used google like a lot to find a solution, but I'm out of ideas....

I've solved my problem, I also posted this on the GPG forums and they came up with an answer, and it worked!

The GPG forums link wont load. Can somebody paste the solution here? I'm getting bit by this one too.

Hey Kruton, I solved my issue awhile ago. It was because of my External HDD. I installed steam and all my games on my External HDD but some games don't work when there installed like that. I have no clue why.

Either way, when I made a library on my harddisk which is inside my computer and installed the game there, the crash wen't away. That worked for me.

I don't know if you have the exact same situation and I hope you solve your issue soon :) but this is what I posted on the GPG forums. There also more games that don't work on an external HDD. Assassin's Creed 3 for example or Saints Row The Third.

Good luck with your crash issue :).

Sadly this is not my situation. All games are on my C drive. My crash scenarios have been mostly when returning to the main menu after a Skirmish or a multiplayer game. I had 1 crash after a particularly long multiplayer game (1+hr) but just the other day only after about 30 minutes in a 2v2 (2 humans vs 2 Sorian AI) on vanilla Isis. I haven't touched the game in years and only recently added it to steam using my old CD key. I never had these problems back then. I'm on an Intel quad core with 8 gig of ram and Windows 7 64bit.
