Teased on their podcast as the next great thing in PC gaming journalism, PC Gamer killed off this app after just 7 "issues". This application was a buggy mess when it released, and it was full of advertisements, even though it's pay to "play".
In 2014, this review probably doesn't mean much to anyone, but stay away from this half-baked concept of an app.
PC gamer for steam has been discontinued since episode 7. For the moment the issues can still be purchased individually in the steam store for a low price but they are all episodes that contains material from games that were released roughly a few years ago. The app can be used to get a handful of achievements if you are into that sort of thing but that's about it.
The idea behind the application looked promising though. But sometimes it just doesn't work out.
This is an app to read and watch PC Gamer Digital magazines, which are sold as DLC for about 1€ each. It looks and feels great, but it has sadly been abandoned for over two years. If you really want to read and watch old content you might give it a go, but otherwise I wouldn't recommend this. If you want to you could check out the first magazine though, that one is free.
Nothing interesting. And pay for each episode? Few videos? No. Every real game magazine have more content and more interesting articles. Here you got something too obviously - you don't need to pay for that to know it (you don't need even read about it).
