Cannot find supported audio device
Whenever I try to load up the game, my resolution changes momentarily before the program just disappearing and Steam acts as if I closed it. I've tried fixing the XNA and .NET frameworks, and rebooted more than once. When I open the error.txt file created, I see

Cannot find supported audio device.

I have a working set of speakers, and no other program has ever complained about them, so I'm not sure what the problem could be.

did this ever work? i have played the game with various sound devices, from on-board sound, expensive sound blaster cards, and a USB head set. it looks like it might just be corrupt files. if you were reading error logs, i guess that you probably already know how to verify the game cache, but just in case:

if this doesn't work, and the game somehow doesn't like your sound device(s), maybe you can borrow a USB headset or speakers from a friend? or buy a cheap one somewhere?
