Apparently this works so I will give it a try.
I laugh at these games where you have to hack the code in order to make it look better (I am looking at you Watch Dogs).
It's disgusting game design. Those lazy, lazy ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ don't give a ♥♥♥♥ about PC gamers.
Yes, idtech5 had texture streaming issues. Google the tweak, which u may have done. It fixes it.
Turn on the dsr setting in ur fancy card & up resolution.
The game is stunning - if you can accept it's different. Megatextures create unique environments with NO repeated assets.
Carmac is a genius - id pretty much created the fps genre. They are grandfathers of PC gaming - this title was revolutionary in many ways but had serious issues at launch.
RAGE has a subtlety to its design many miss. But the textures are low res - if you fixate on it, it will ruin the game.
RAGE is like playing in airbrushed comic book art.
I have always loved the art & graphics of this title - it was day 1 for me & remains one of my favourite titles. On my 5th playthrough I think?!
60fps & a tonne of fun.
Give it a chance.
