a pretty enjoyable deus ex clone. the skills are pretty enjoyable, the level design is pretty enjoyable, the story line is pretty enjoyable. i was eager to find out more about the story behind the E.Y.E unit of the Secta and was looking to every new mission i was about to be dispatched.
what was not so enjoyable is the necessity to grind the money and experience in order to fully enjoy the skill tree in the whole beauty. you need to invest a huge amount money into not only weapons, spells and upgrades but even more for research. and only after completing research you get to buy the goodies. that would be all fine if the game lenght would be adequate but it is definitely not.
by the first playthrough i had only uncovered only about 1 extra skill besides the given ones. the game developers decided to make you go grind through the same levels over and over again in order to "uncover the whole story" (understand: too lazy to create more actual content instead), only then you will be able to enjoy the whole skill tree and gameplay as it was meant to be.
lacking was also the enemy ai in combination with the huge open maps. often you find yourself just wondering where the hell are shots comming from only to find out that the enemy bot has spotted you across this tiny crack from the other end of the map. this, unfortunately, has greatly impacted the ability to fully enjoy the stealth-like gameplay potential that the game had. which also reminds me that the qick-switch weapon keyboard bindings are atrocious and unchangable
on a scale of 1-10 i would give it solid 7. it was still fun but feels unfinished and bothersome after a while when the game forces you to replay the same content over again and grind more money
