Multiplayer spoils save files.
I started to notice, that when random map rotation glitches and starts a deathmatch round instead of coop mission your level progress often resets. What i discovered lately is the fact that it can reset your character to a state in which he was at the random (but very long) time ago. Just yesterday i had almost all possible researches, all weapons exept arracandora and level 68. I tried to create an assimilation game to just look at the maps. After i quit game and relaunced it i found myself without ALL things i had. So there's two things:
1.If you want to play versus modes. Try load different character before.
2.To developers: please at least remove bug which swithes your coop game to a deathmatch game.

Better choice for such a bugged game would be a complete save system overhaul. Now game has saves and backups. I don't know how often game make a back ups but it looks like VERY rare. All the rest of the time game owerwrites your main save, with risk to completely destroy all your achievements.
So my suggestion is, that game must have 5-10 save folders, when limit is reached - oldest save must be overwriten. In addition each save must have a txt file with all stats of your character. so if your saves are spoiled you can go back at least several game sessions back.

To avoid Battle Royal and Team Artifact mode, try the following, it seems to work on my computer, but if you can confirm on your side it would help:

Go to steam\SteamApps\common\EYE\EYE folder and open mapcycle.txt.
Remove any kind of map you don't want to play from the list.

If you play in multiplayer, of course it has to be done on the server.

Since only deathmatch launches on random. Here's what i think: several battle royal/team artifact maps are in constant rotation - space ship, sewers with giant mushrooms, city canals and some mining facility. All these maps have one "kill them all" mission. There is at least one map (Mountainous area with pagodas) which never loads in coop. When this glitch occurs, howewer, any of new maps can be loaded. Both ones suited for coop and not.
By the way, pagoda map is pretty neat, would be awesome to see it in coop mode.

I have to check that but it makes sense.

The pagoda runs fine in Team play for few players. I'm unsure its size is well formated for coop mode.

Here's another thing about 'minor' save glitch, that may help your coders.
When i noticed a level reset i starded to check out all my posessions before exiting game. I disconnect, launch temple HQ, and look if my XP, money and stats match ones i had seconds before (while playing coop). During this check all stats were perfectly accurate and still, after entering game again i sometimes had my level/money reset.
So whatever causes this must happen durind loading sequence, or even game quit sequence.

That sounds like faulty backup restoration? Game thinks save is corrupted (which is actually not) and tries to restore backup?
