Why is every server password protected?
Back when I first got this game jumping into a multiplayer game was pretty easy but now every server in the list requires a password. The two times I've managed to join a game it's been full of idiots trying to kill me (I introduced those morons to the Excidium).

What gives?

Well, the game isn't as popular as it used to be. Most of the servers may be private ones for small groups of people playing. They could also be steam group servers that require you to be a member for access. Since EYE isn't much of a source mod compatable game, so they don't have plugins for EYE to make the servers group servers only. Hope this helps!

Farting Dog is right but there could misunderstanding. You should differ between EYE Coop server from EYE Solo servers. If person has well configured router or direct acces to internet then shall he start playing EYE Solo campaign, he will be visible to other players through game browser. To provide truly Solo campaign game creates random passwords of each play session.

They should build some unlocked official servers.

Because a "stranger" can really really ruin your fun in this game (friendly fire, and hacking for instance), since death come with a pretty high price. I've been kicked from servers in the past without a word being exchanged (because i wasn't one of them).

Most of them are password protected because they're solo campaign. Others are group servers.
