How do I succesfully host a server on EYE?
I'm starting to lose hope that I'll ever be able to host on this game.
No matter what I do it just doesn't seem to work.
I've tried hosting a lan game using Hamachi, but people couldn't connect.
Opened up all the necessary ports and followed standard procedure for hosting on Source games, which does in fact work on other Source titles, making sure that Lan Only was switched off, yet on EYE people still can't connect.

Frankly I'm getting desparate and I'd really appreciate it if someone could point me in the right direction with this. Is there something that I've missed or haven't tried yet?

There is this guide, I think my mate got it working on his machine using a similar method.http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2029462

I've been using the dedicated server app under tools (along with firewall / port forwarding) to play with friends / random people.

There is also this info on the EYE officail site. http://eye.streumon-studio.com/index.php?page=news&news=21

There are also the bat files in your game folder you could see if those allow a connection.http://forums.steamgames.com/forums/showthread.php?p=34330446

Thanks a lot for the reply.
I'll be sure to try all these out and see how it goes.
Maybe I'll even post this stuff on Guides so people will have an easier time finding it.

Well, I tried all of the above and as it turns out random people can join me, but my friends still can't lol...

Hmm that is odd. Can your friends join through the server server browser (i.e not steam invite). Could try via the friends tab and the main server browser (there's only ~ 30 servers so it wont be hard to find it). Do your friends have any firewall / anti virus that may block? (try and host Tf2 or CSS or something and see if they can get in). Are your friends over the net or local, so on the same router. Use "whats my ip" to get your external ip and have your friends add it as a favourite server. Prev method + :portnumber so for me.

Or if all else fails unfriend them and have them join in as a Random! (that probably wont do anything as I don't think the servers are dependant on steam friends).

We tried server browser, joining through chat and through console, but nothing did the trick.
I successfully hosted and played Synergy with one of them, so logically at least he should be able to join, but still no go. I'm guessing it's most likely their firewall/port settings, although why that should influence JOINING servers is beyond me, plus all of them can join other servers just fine.
I think it's no secret that EYE just has horrible connectivity issues, for whichever reason, that I doubt are ever going to get fixed. This is me giving up since I really don't want to ♥♥♥♥ around with this anymore and it infinitely ♥♥♥♥es me off that I'm even forced to do so.
Regardless, thanks a lot for the help, Fudge. I just wish it would have worked out.

Try to run the dedicated on a different port, the default one might be used by another app.

ive have tried all 3 and none of them work
it always says not repsonding
to my friends can someone run a public coop campaign server plz. And will there be a patch to solve this issue.

The game does not use the p2p for the network. So it needs to open some ports if you use a router and some configuration. If you encounter issue, you should try to open another ports than those advised, so maybe one of the port is already in use by another application.
