Local Co-op?
The store pages say it has local co-op. Does that means this has split-screen?

No. Only LAN.

That's kind of misleading. On most games on Steam, local implies on one machine, no? =/

It's misleading info. Devs should fix it, or it could be seen as fraud.
On steam 'local coop' tag means splitscreen/singlescreen multiplayer on single machine. Otherwise CS/CoD/TF2 and a lot of other games would have one.

Actually it also means LAN, but games which suppoort LAN anyway do not have this tag most of the time. Though lately with games being online-only multiplayer with the only offine option being singleplayer (Payday) it's starting to become a godsend to see the tag reerring to lan.
If Valve wants to take their Steam Machine seriously, they need to introduce a "splitscreen" tag or a "Couch Multiplayer" Tag.

Wrong. In many games on Steam, Local Co-op is used to refer to LAN play. The tag fits, because it's co-op over a Local Area Network, thus Local Co-op.

No, he's correct. Local Co-op refers mostly to games that can be played multiplayer on one machine, at least on Steam (e.g. Portal 2, LEGO games, Trine series, Dungeon Defenders, just to name a few). I was misled by that as well, glad I checked the forums.

that is a bit disappointing. I'd like to see more FPS games have true local coop on PC. It would be a big boost to the Steam Machine.

oh well, I didn't even pay $1 for it, so no loss.
platypus_avenger Jul 14 @ 1:30pm
that being said, Steam does need to add a "LAN" tag to the side bar.

For what it's worth, I also think Local Co-op should be reserved for one-machine types of Co-op and a separate LAN tag should indicate local area multiplayer.

Thanks for clearing up that this game is not in fact a one-machine-type of "Local Co-op".

I can't believe they haven't fixed this yet. I payed 0.99 hoping for a local co op game.

So did I. =(

Apparantly LAN counts, its the same with Judge Dredd vs Death (which shows 4 player splitscreen on the store page outrageously!)
