Hopeful sequel?
Do you all hope there'd be a sequel with more singleplayer :D I do!
I think it'd be awesome for this game to have a sequel, what're your thoughts on the matter?

Personally I don't know. While I would like a sequel to explain some of the mysteries that surround EYE, I don't know if that would be good. I mean I played a game called Condemed, and the game itself didn't explain all that was happening, and so I came up with my own conclusions. THen Condemned 2 came out, and it was a too cliched of story, I like my idea better of what was going on. I would be afraid that EYE 2 would fall the same way. In Condemed 2 it explained it right at the start (from what I have read). And it would be too easy for the developers of EYE to go the same cliched routes as othrs have. I'd hope not, but its hard to say they won't when everyone else does.

In all, I'd like to see a sequel, but I'd want to see it go a different way than other developers have. Keeping the mystery while solving some things but adding more to it. I don't know if that makes sense.

In the singleplayer area, EYE did WONDERFUL with the non-seperation of single & multi-player for the campaign, I don't know about battle royale or Team Artifact. So I'd like to see this model continue. Then also that there isn't really a level limit is AMAZING. I have seen level 200s & up, which is insane, & I LOVE about this game.

I haven't played multiplayer yet so I don't really have much to say there, but the devs have much room to improve if they did happen to create a sequel... New planets / possibility of more open worlds with easier side missions... sort of a Planetside 2 feel? Borderlands 2 feel perhaps... They could definitely do with a varied progression of the character's arsenal as in starting with weaker weapons and buying more and more and maybe upgrades, maybe buying ammo, but they could do with more weapons.

They could make a sequel purely based on background information of the races, history, involvement of whatever was going on lol. A game made like this I reckon the devs are more than smart enough (if they happened to decide on a sequel) to continue it for their players to be wrapped in a more mysterious deep world filled with conspiracies. Without the cliched routes you would think, it may be easier for the devs but these devs know what their players want and make beautifully in-depth games :D

but you have only 12 hours... i noticed... anyway... <_<

i think, "sequel" is too strong word for a developer who has trouble even to release their product on linux. something like strong expansion, maybe? or director's cut edition... deluxe version? yeah... things like these are the future of gaming industry.

but that's just my opionion. O_o

Yes I know, but I see myself playing this for many more, it's very easy for me to see when I'm going to play a game for a long time. Devs have done sequels with and without linux in their whole series... so I don't see how that changes things.

linux is not the point... i'm just saying that, it looks like they have something else to do now. and later... as sequel of old indie game for a small remaining fan base?

hm... sure, sure. if we ask really really really nice... why not? for xmas! ^_^

As far as I'm aware, Streum On are currently busy with the new Space Hulk game for Games Workshop. That would kind of rule out any sequel for the time being, as they're to the best of my knowledge a very small dev team.
However, yeah, I'd also love a sequel. Great game, still playing it. Got a lot of flak for reasons I'm not quite sure of. Sure, it's kind of janky, but for me, that's part of the charm.

What would you like to see most in an EYE sequel? Personally, I think some more ambitious level design would be a treat. Just got finished playing NaissanceE, another awesome French game with a sense of scale that surpasses that of EYE, and I think that kind of maximalist vibe would work really well. Heck, EYE's levels were already massive. Would just be cool to see that taken to the next level.

I agree, no one is rushing them on a sequel just asking if it is thought of as possible. I mentioned what I would like to see above, amongst your addition as well.

They're working on the new Space Hulk game. Hopefully if it sells well they can get to work on another game. The lore of EYE is great and it could use a new and better game. Maybe in the new modified source engine that CSGO and Insurgency use.

Yeah, we know that part about Space Hulk. I reckon it'd be mad with the new source 2.0 :)

Even though the story for Condemned 2 sucked the gameplay was great, real shame Sega is focusing on Rome Total War instead of a port or sequel.

I don't think a sequel would do EYE any favours, but a high budget remake of the game (An HD edition) in the future would be perfect. Imagine AI that doesn't freak out and actually useful powers.:CSAT:

I was thinking more along the lines of a much more refined, deep, and polished spiritual sequel, rather than an actual sequel. Just something that expands on the universe already set in place, even if it's from the point of view of a looter or a Federal cop (Of course, some options are preferable to others in terms of wo the player gets to control). Kinda like what EYE itself was to Syndicate Black Ops.

Based on dialogue within the game, I don't see it having a sequel. A spiritual successor, perhaps (well, E.Y.E. itself is a spiritual successor of a previous game of similar fashion made by the same team on the Goldsrc engine) but not a direct/connected sequel. Again, from dialogue in the game the whole situation is apparently described - albeit vaguely - as a dream made by some "unnamed" creator who has lived practically forever, and that the artifact(s) are the source of this dream as a part of the "unnamed" creator who found it/them long ago. And you are essentially doomed to repeat this dream over and over, for some unknown reason. Perhaps the creator has gone insane or is some sort of sadist.

As well, when the game nears the "ending"/last chapter, it hints at the fact that Rimanah, Dutch, as well as some other characters (possibly including the mentor?) are all actually different personalities of the same person; you. In other words you are a schizo, or so it would seem (which would technically make sense considering how the game plays out in terms of who you are and what you do throughout). This also fits the underlying theme of the game which is partially based on your mentality/mental balance/mental health.

So you're saying that:
The game EYE doesn't exist even in EYE
becasue The whole thing is a dream and the artifatcs are events the creator pulled from his life to form the dream, so in the theory the only things that exist in game are the artifacts which are impossible to determine for obvious reasons

So does that mean you are the creator living in his dream?
And what was that story about the white wolf, was the guy who merged with it the creator?
Then why the hell does anything matter at all if my guess is right? If there's no implications for any actions in EYE what's the point of the Secreta rebellion? (I remember a raider bartender alluding to the pointlessness of life somewhere).

Sorry about that, I'm just kind of confused.

EDIT: well, that was good timing Ghost5Cat

You might wanna spoil highlight the actual spoliers and not highlight not-so-important spoilers...

Yea, it seems that way pretty much, since regardless of your choices in the game you're stuck in the cycle.
