In all, I'd like to see a sequel, but I'd want to see it go a different way than other developers have. Keeping the mystery while solving some things but adding more to it. I don't know if that makes sense.
In the singleplayer area, EYE did WONDERFUL with the non-seperation of single & multi-player for the campaign, I don't know about battle royale or Team Artifact. So I'd like to see this model continue. Then also that there isn't really a level limit is AMAZING. I have seen level 200s & up, which is insane, & I LOVE about this game.
They could make a sequel purely based on background information of the races, history, involvement of whatever was going on lol. A game made like this I reckon the devs are more than smart enough (if they happened to decide on a sequel) to continue it for their players to be wrapped in a more mysterious deep world filled with conspiracies. Without the cliched routes you would think, it may be easier for the devs but these devs know what their players want and make beautifully in-depth games :D
i think, "sequel" is too strong word for a developer who has trouble even to release their product on linux. something like strong expansion, maybe? or director's cut edition... deluxe version? yeah... things like these are the future of gaming industry.
but that's just my opionion. O_o
Yes I know, but I see myself playing this for many more, it's very easy for me to see when I'm going to play a game for a long time. Devs have done sequels with and without linux in their whole series... so I don't see how that changes things.
hm... sure, sure. if we ask really really really nice... why not? for xmas! ^_^
However, yeah, I'd also love a sequel. Great game, still playing it. Got a lot of flak for reasons I'm not quite sure of. Sure, it's kind of janky, but for me, that's part of the charm.
What would you like to see most in an EYE sequel? Personally, I think some more ambitious level design would be a treat. Just got finished playing NaissanceE, another awesome French game with a sense of scale that surpasses that of EYE, and I think that kind of maximalist vibe would work really well. Heck, EYE's levels were already massive. Would just be cool to see that taken to the next level.
Even though the story for Condemned 2 sucked the gameplay was great, real shame Sega is focusing on Rome Total War instead of a port or sequel.
I don't think a sequel would do EYE any favours, but a high budget remake of the game (An HD edition) in the future would be perfect. Imagine AI that doesn't freak out and actually useful powers.
As well, when the game nears the "ending"/last chapter, it hints at the fact that Rimanah, Dutch, as well as some other characters (possibly including the mentor?) are all actually different personalities of the same person; you. In other words you are a schizo, or so it would seem (which would technically make sense considering how the game plays out in terms of who you are and what you do throughout). This also fits the underlying theme of the game which is partially based on your mentality/mental balance/mental health.
The game EYE doesn't exist even in EYE
becasue The whole thing is a dream and the artifatcs are events the creator pulled from his life to form the dream, so in the theory the only things that exist in game are the artifacts which are impossible to determine for obvious reasons
So does that mean you are the creator living in his dream?
And what was that story about the white wolf, was the guy who merged with it the creator?
Then why the hell does anything matter at all if my guess is right? If there's no implications for any actions in EYE what's the point of the Secreta rebellion? (I remember a raider bartender alluding to the pointlessness of life somewhere).
Sorry about that, I'm just kind of confused.
EDIT: well, that was good timing Ghost5Cat
