I don't really enjoy this game, it feels a bit like a wasted oppertunity (OPINOIN!)
This is just my opinion, I have nothing against the game and I think the idea of TDFPS is a great one, but I got the demo and felt bored playing it. perhaps I'm missing the point or something but I just didn't have fun. I quit after the first level and never played again. The idea is great though and I would love to see some amazing new games designed around this idea.

I dunno,
Did you have fun? Am I missing something? Respond if you feel inclined to do so!

Try out the demo for Sanctum 2 and see if it's more to your liking.

In all honesty, games like these are very niche. Usually it's either you love it and it's perfect for you or you'll find it just "meh". And that's okay.

The only question you should ask yourself is what kind of game you're looking for. If you're looking for more tower defense, there's plenty to pick from. If you want a nice FPS with some twists there's a few of those too.

I did not enjoy it. It felt very tedious and repetitive. I just did not have fun with it. I feel as if i just wasted a bunch of cash. (And before any one says anything, yes I looked at reviews and videos and it looked good.)

Try multiplayer (online coop), it will probably make a world of difference, 10x more fun with other people than slogging along single-player, although that gets fun too after a while, especially when you start grinding for higher difficulties

Sanctum is a difficult game to classify. Putting it in "Tower Defense" with a splash of "FPS" isn't telling the entire story... there's more strategy involved than either of those combined, and when you add the resource management required, it now falls under something like a battle simulation along the lines of Total War or an older game called Praetorians.

I do agree with Prime.. It's either "Love it or leave it." Some people will call in love with the different levels of complexity and multiple facets of strategy, while others are going to look and go "Not what I was looking for," and delete it. Both are fine. Critics said the same thing about Shadow of the Collosus.

Hmm, I disagree with a few posts in the thread.

This game is definitely one you can be on the fence about. Like me, overall I kind of like the game, but less so than most other TDs. If you like TDs, there is a good chance you will like this game either more or less than other TDs.

Classifying the game into a single genre could be difficult. But the game can be easily described as a TD with some FPS elements.

I'll throw this out there: Sanctum 2 is fantastic! I got both at the same time because of the concept. I played the first for a little while and was a little on the fence myself. As soon as I started the sequel, I was hooked. If you're not sure you like the first one, may I suggest trying the sequel?

Personally, I love this game. I always play a movie or podcast or something in the background when I play. Its so relaxing for me. Can't do that with Sanctum 2.
