Insane FPS drops in Bad Dream map using Brutal Doom v20b
So, I accessed the secret map in the Master Levels called Bad Dream (the one with tons of Cyberdemons in a huge arena), and upon touching the plate that holds the invincibility power-up, the game's framerate slows down to an unbelievable 1 frame every 10 seconds or so. I tried lowering the OpenGL graphical options to no avail.

I'm using Brutal Doom v20b and Zandronum as my sourceport. The game performs nicely otherwise.

Has this happened to anyone else? And is there a way to fix it?

hmmn. What is the monster count in that map?

Not familiar with the master levels too much, but ill take a look

not really any way to fix it though, im sure, but id post this on sergent mark 4s facebook page instead.

It has 42 monsters. About 34 Cyberdemons in a giant arena, and a few mooks in another room, on top of a Spiderdemon.When they all start shooting and sparkles fly everywhere, the framerate takes a hit, but nothing outrageous and the game remains thoroughly playable.

However, when I touch the plate in the center to lower the ceiling, it becomes completely unplayable for no apparent reason as the framerate dies. The only command that still works is Esc to open the start menu. It opens instantly and allows me to exit the game without alt tabbing.

I'm surprised nobody has ever gotten this glitch around here.

My friend has been playing the Master Levels with Brutal Doom 20b but using GZDoom, and he has the exact same issue. As soon as the ceiling starts coming down the framerate drops to a slideshow and the game is then unplayable.

So that means it's a problem with Brutal Doom itself and not the sourceport.
