This or red orchestra 2
I don't want to start a fanboy war, but which game do you prefer, and please tell me why. Also, how active are players in both games, and how easy is it to find a full game?

red orchestra 2 have more players for sure after all it pops up in the top 100 most played games sometimes plus it runs better (better optimized and got patched regularly) and there are mods for it on the way just my opinion.

Red Orchestra for multiplayer... Iron Front for sandbox play.

Agreed with cmdrGoose. well red orchestra has the worst support ive seen since EA games.. but you can have some fun with (great infantry gameplay) it if you manage to run it without lags.
But no war fps game has a better sandbox and replayability than Arma 2 so i guess Iron Front (based on arma 2 engine) must have the same awesome editor.. and as Arma was very complete in vehicles controls you can expect the same kind of high fidelity on Iron Front i guess.

Worst support? What do you mean? Also agree with CmdrGoose, the only way to have fun in multiplayer in any arma game is to play with a clan or friends.

Silver, what are you talking about? TWI caught a lot of flak for RO2's release etc etc, but if there's anyting that company is known for, its supporting their games.

Red Orchestra 2 for sure.

This is the worst game I've ever bought. no support, no patches (don't tell me about this 7 minor bugfixes after 7 months just to sell their new dlc) and developers dont care about community. They don't even support mods. Use google and metacritic before you buy.

RO2's developers TWI communicates with the players and keeps coming out with patches and updates, I think they are awesome!...and RO2 is hands down the best multiplayer fps out there.

RO2 is not really that bad for ground pounding.. but the maps are small and CODish type play gets old quickly. If you are looking for tanks such as those in Darkest Hour mod or even close to RO.. then this by far. RO2 really screwed up on the tank battles along with the tanks. Iron Front is the tank battles RO2 should have been and a much richer environment. BOTH have limited Multiplayer communities.

RO2 hands down (provided you play the 40-1 sever)
Scaramanga Dec 13, 2012 @ 11:09am
Completely different games ,I played them both RO2 is a much better FPS but IF44 has much better armoured warfare , AT guns troop transports mortars better tanks all things RO2 fans have been asking for since release. You want a action FPS get RO2 if you want a slower paced armoured based game get IF44.

Simple buy them both if you have to cash , both good in there own way both got off to a bad start as well ))

Iron front has great mission editor and a feel of masive battles. But runs the old and buggy ArmA 2 game engine which is bugging players but in the long run you will have too much fun to care. Red orchestra's devs listens to you, I started up a thread with a problem on their forums and got a reply from one of the programmers of the game and experienced community members. They gameplay is supposed to welcome new players with their new Action mode and satisfy old players with the new Classic mode. works 50/50 I prefer classic a con of the game is that they have added a upgrade system like many action multiplayer games have which me and other old school RO players dislike. The feel, graphics and gameplay in Red orchestra 2 is alot more stable and realistic than in Iron front. Which makes you abit tired of playing it after some time.

My opinion is to go with Red orchestra 2 since the reliable dev/community support with good patches comming out. But it's really up to what you like if you can live the half good support of Iron front and love the gameplay otherwise go with Iron front. Good luck! :)

Thanks for all the opinions guys, I'm buying RO2 since it's on %75, and I'll try to get my ArmA 2 clan to buy this, so we can play together. I'll probably wait for Iron front to be %75 though because I'm greedy like that.
