you wake up in your room at this lavish luxury hotel resort on Island of Banoi to find that every thing has gone to ♥♥♥♥. you and a group of survivors who are immune to this virus need to get a vaccine to the prison to someone named Ryder White to get out of hell. along the way you meet many characters trying to survive the outbreak. you pass through four major areas they include, the resort, town, jungle and then the prison.
the graphics are average at best, it has cringe worthy Australian accents and can have a few bugs from time to time but it has solid game play mechanics a great leveling up system that lets you invest your skill points into three main categories, fury, combat and survival.
DI features good variety weapons from paddles to machetes, guns, baseball bats etc with the ability to upgrade weapons and customize them e.g nails+baseball bat= nailed bat. but you have to repair you weapons often at work benches.
DI features good variety of zombies to decapitate from your typical walkers to infected (they charge at you a good strategy I find is to kick them at the last second to stop them in there tracks), floaters ( they are these fat zombies that spew toxic waste on to you), thugs (like walkers but bigger and have a hell of a punch), butcher (you know them see them), ram ( they are a huge zombie in a straight jacket a good strategy is stand still as soon as he starts to charge at you run ether left or right he will stop after he has passed you and the quickly attack him from behind), suicider (they blow up if you get to close a good strategy is to walk past the very closely and then leg it, they can be used to kill multiple zombies if you can get them close enough). however after a while the zombies can feel quite liner.
overall its a decent survival horror, RPG. but some of the quests can be not well thought out and liner and the combat gets liner towards the end of the game. the overall game (if you just focus on the main quests) will take about 13 to 15 hours to complete.
