This is the first open-world zombie-themed FPS I've played, and damn if I didn't like it. Amazing graphics, really great sounds and music, very good and atmospheric locations -- the abandoned police station, and the hotel, and even the whole town... You can physically feel the zombie apocalypse in this one -- even though it's not as dramatic, as in DayZ, or in H1Z1, or even in games like Deadlight.
The weakest side of the game is AI -- even though you don't expect much from the zombies, sometimes they're just acting... let's say, weird. Another weak side of the game is the script -- god, the screenplay in this one's just awful. I mean, one can only expect as much of a zombie game, of course, but still -- there are good examples of a good script, like Resident Evil, for example.
Game has a lot of similarities with Dead Rising. For example, one can find strong resemblance in finding and crafting stuff, though DI is a lot more atmospheric than DR. Fortunately enough, developers put no bad puns and awkward jokes in the script -- unlike the DR, stuff hapenning in DI world isn't considered as something comical.
To sum it up, even though it's 2015 now and there's Dying Light coming real soon, this is a pretty good game to spend a few days on a tropical island, surrounded by zombies.
I'd rate this game 7.5 out of 10.0
PS If you'll enjoy this game, be sure to check out it's sequel -- Riptide. I did find it pretty good, though I didn't spend as much time playing it.
