Why I prefer BFG to other Mobas.
I started playing League of Legends during the Kogmaw patch and it was a blast. I could always count on fun surprises during the game. After the Season 1 championships the game became much more competive and structured and consequently much less fun in my opinion. Instead of playing characters I had fun playing and being adaptive in the match, I had to be versed in the top picks of the meta at a given time and know who countered who and have the rune pages to support everyone, etc. etc. It became an arms race that I just couldn't keep up with. It really lost it's charm for me and playing felt like a chore.

Last year I started playing BFG's predecessor RoI for the winter achievement. I tried it during it's open beta didn't care for it, but something clicked for me this time around. And I can attest the 100s of hours I put into it were some of the most memorable and fun game experiences I've had. I'll just list all the things I enjoy about RoI/BFG and why it I prefer it.

-Immortals and Artifacts are much cheaper and take less time to acquire than their LoL counterparts. And the Artifacts are more gameplay changing.

-Lasthitting is much easier for all champions. After getting used to clicking the unit frames it feels much more intuitive to predict when to lasthit and the units aren't constantly left with a sliver of health. This let's me focus more on my opponents. This might be because defense penetration benefits all characters auto attacks. Consequently...

-Gold Income in match is much faster than in LoL. I can constantly purchase and utilize consumables to great effect during the match without feeling like I'm setting myself back.

-The consumables are really fun and are as powerful as LoL summoner spells. They provide a lot of in-game options, and can really be the equalizer in a fight.

- MIA buttons on the map are a big plus. Immortal specific artifact pages and discipline trees make bringing the right tool for the job easier.

In TLDR and IMHO, BFG is just more fun than LoL. LoL is an expensive overstructured snorefest that is decided at champion select with very little room for experimentation and adaptive playstyles. A game of BFG is full of surprises and options and at this juncture HEAPS of potential. If you're not getting what you want in LoL chances are you can make it happen in BFG.

Its matter of opinion, but I find my self enjoying this game. I am a casual player and here are a couple reasons that I enjoy it.

1.My favorite part is shorter games. Do to higher creep pushing ability I dont have to worry about every game lasting 40 minutes to an hour.

2. I just like the heroes. I enjoy the heroes because the skill sets are very new and unique to me. It feels as fresh and raw to me as a new young bands first cd. My favorite hero thus far is Azcadelia. I love her skill set and as soon as she isnt f2p anymore I will most likely purchase her. I like being able to tp the shadowlings at a hero low on health and using them to finish off someone running away. I also love her special giant shadowling ability and using it at a pinnacle point of the game, to pretty much end the game in victory.

Now here is biggest reasons I find myself getting angry while playing the game. Its not even really the games fault.

1. Trolls that start game off chanting something like "LoL 4 lyfe" and then feed on purpose as soon as game starts.

2. Trolls that at beginning say, "Mid or Feed!" go mid then feed anyways then rage quit.

3. Trolls that just leave the game.

LoL is such a bad game, why do people praise it so much.

If LoL is such a bad game then why is it the most played game in the world while ALSO being the most watched Esport in the world? Hmmmmmm

At first I thought that Battle for Graxia simply took the unique elements of Rise of Immortals and replaced them with analogs to League of Legends rules. But the more I play the more I find that BfG does some things in a way that I find more intuitive and interesting than League of Legends.

The 2 things I wish about BfG are:
1) the visual and UI style would be more differentiated from League of Legends. At first glance it looks highly derivative.
2) There were more gameplay modes and maps currently available. My main complaint with most MOBAs is that they only feature a single map. League of Legends' Domination mode is a lot of fun when you need a break from Summoner's Rift

Yeah, Wayward. I really enjoy BFG's gameplay and balance. But they need to work on the in-game aesthetics and overall graphical quality and personality if they want to become a strong title. The new splash art looks good and the game's aesthetic is stronger than it was a year ago. But it definitely needs work. I'm hopeful that the current state of the game will be a good foundation to branch out into those kind of changes.

Lol is free, completley free, and you dont need to spend money on anything, you do realize that?

Secondly the meta means nothing. Sure there is a prefered way to play, but going an assassin mid instead of ap carry mid happens. And its not a bad idea to shake it up. Your excuses doesn't hold up at all. There is no right way to play, sure there are considered counter champions, but at the end of the day it doesnt matter that much. It just seem you couldn't compete at the highest level and you got♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥off. And it is very much possible to like two different moba games, you dont have to hate lol to play dota 2 or bfg. I just dont get that mentality.

I'm glad you enjoy bfg though, nothing wrong with that, I do too :)

Crispin, I'm not saying LoL is a bad game on it's own terms. I'm just stating my opinion of why I prefer BFG over LoL given a year of experience playing both games. I don't think I'm giving "excuses" for my opinion. I'm just laying out my experience and that I had overall a lot more fun playing BFG than I did playing LoL.

I've tried to get back into LoL again and again but for whatever reasons which I listed above the experience felt uncompelling and inaccessible to me. It doesn't ♥♥♥♥♥♥me off." Though it does disappoint me, because I had lot of fun in season 1. I just didn't care for the direction the game went. And before I discovered Rise of Immortals I felt like that fun was in the past.

I'm not trying to bash LoL or other mobas. If I descibed LoL harshly, that was just my experience with it. I still very much enjoy watching LoL tournaments even though I don't enjoy playing the game. Rather I'd like to bring attention to BFG as a fresh moba with great potential for the players to guide the direction of the game.

He was responding to my calling LoL expensive in my original post. Which I still believe it is, especially compared to BFG. The sheer amount of time investment it takes to unlock a single 6300 IP champion is quite steep especially if you want to unlock rune pages and expensive sets of runes to equip on the champion. This might not be noticeable if you are playing several hours every day, but for someone like me who enjoys experimenting with different builds and playing casually, it felt very slow and unsatisfying. By contrast BFG's assets are about half the cost of LoL's in both time and in cash.

I'll admit this might not be as important or noticeable to other people as it is to me. But in my opinion it's one of the points that makes BFG a satisfying alternative.

Because SC and DoTA ♥♥♥♥♥es need something to whine about to make themselves better.

As for this game, it's pretty good. That said, it has some MAJOR balance issues. Like, gamebreaking balance issues.

I think my favorite part of this game (besides Karapyss, whom I adore!) is the community. I really feel at home here. I know a ton of people and they are all so kind. Also, when I am in the hub, I have seen many times, people offering to help new players! This is astonishing to me, as in other moba's all I hear is flaming (I can't say this happens all the time, just most of the time in my experience). For this BIG reason, I will stick with BFG :-)!
