Bethesda is NOT the original D3's maker but they're responsible for pulling it out of steam. Id Software supports PC platforms and mod communities (originally D3 in particular) so they'd never pull the original game away from fans. Bethesda wants consumers to buy the updated version with their name labelled on it so it's more money for them.
