so what is the difference with D3 and D3 bfd edition
I personally want to own all the doom games which is why I’m getting the other im not sure what is the ultimate doom is. But I want the final doom as well I have a thing where I like ot have all my games in order not scattered somewhere else on my library so I want the doom bfd just because it has stated doom 1 and so and so what am I missing or what is there that is not needed.

Google man or search button. It's been discussed many times. Don't be lazy.

If you have finals then what the ♥♥♥♥ are you doing on your computer not studying?

D3:
-Doesn't include ROE unless you buy it seperately
-Better Lighting (which is weird isn't it?)
-Bumpmaps aren't ♥♥♥♥ed up
-Original :/

BFE:
-Claimed better lighting, but made worse
-♥♥♥♥ed up bumpmaps under hard lighting (texture bumps)
-Includes ROE and a new Expansion
-Includes old Doom games

Both are good, I prefer original however.
Expansion felt like a fan mission made with reused assets.

I believe it comes with 'Thy Flesh Consumed'.
So... ye.

I'm not sure whether it's the original though, so whether you can play Doom mod or not... idk.

OH and another thing:
Doom 3 BFE isn't mod friendly, nor is there any editor for it.
Doom 3 and ROE has tons of mods, some that vastly increase graphic quality.

MrMuffinz May 11, 2014 @ 9:35am
Yeah, I heard the controls were all ♥♥♥♥ed up in the beginning because it's only just a console port.

and how about multi-player? d3 or bfg communities are more active?

Noone plays either online, they are basically dead. Although if you want a real comparison, normal Doom 3 has slightly more players, but you aren't missing out on much.

MultPlayer-wise, yeah, they are both dead.
Community-wise?
Doom 3.

Doom 3 actually has mod support and a map editor, with billions of mods and maps to chose from, just like it's predescessors.

BFG appearantly does have mod support, but it isn't user friendly, so it requires community coding to get a working system in. It also uses a new file system, so none of the old good mods will work unless ported, which sounds liek a very hard task. To top it off, BFG doesn't have a map maker.
So basically, it would take a large community operation to get it to work, which isn't even worth it considering BFG still blows.
