Couple of Oddities in Sikkmod 1.2 [FIXED: Absolute mod and white-screen
I've browsed through several forum posts earlier on this topic, yet none seem to have the problems I am dealing with. And I have practically turned off all the options in the Sikkmod menu in-game.

For example, when I go outside on Mars my screen is sort of squeezed together and shifted to the left a little, fixing itself when I go inside. Another kind of problem are textures on the Lost Souls showing up as invisible blobs, the mirrors are sort of some liquidy, constantly moving mess, and the spouts of fire from pipes that look similar to the invisible blobs of the Lost Souls. There was also an an odd discoloration on the humans/zombies, but I think that is supposed to be like that.

Running on an AMD Radeon HD 7570 graphics card and Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3450 CPU @ 3.10GHz processor.

Edit: I got the Absolute mod that does just about everything the Sikkmod does. Also, you need to rename the Doom3.exe file to something else (Doom (space) 3.exe for example), AND THEN add the program as a non-steam game as it won't run normally in the Steam launch. This fixed the white-screen and some outline issues I had.

Hey champ,

I while ago I tried running sikkmod and never could get it running as it should have with all the bells and whistles.

Then a little later I come across another mod called AbsoluteHD mod, which includes Sikkmod and a tonn of other mods aswell, and it runs almost flawlessly. Infact just moment ago I posted a thread on the forums here about the AbsoluteHD mod.

You should definately try the AbsoluteHD mod, It even surpasses Sikmod because it includes many other additions aswell.

I saw that one. Is there some way to turn off some of the other mods in it? I rather love the sounds, like the shotgun, in the Wulfen and Sikkmod pack. And I am not a fan of the changes to holding the gun shown in the video here:

(Not that I have a problem with aim-down-sights, I just prefer the classic to the right of D3).

All right, so I got Absolute running and my screen is just entirely white when I am in-game (but the menu and everything else, as well as the HUD, shows up fine). Any recommendations on how to fix it?

Hey,

You don't need to use the ADS, simply just don't use it or even don't bind a key to it, I think its just a poinltess addition as it doesn't seem to improve accuracy when you use ADS anyways.

Are Imps and Zombies faster? I've noticed sort of a jittery movement with them, and comparing them to some vanilla gameplay they seem to move quicker than usual.

I havent played vanilla doom3 for so long so I can't really critic AbsoluteHD compared to vanilla, but besides the added eye candy it feels about the same as what I can remember of Doom3. There are a heap of additional gameplay settings included with Sikkmod as you know such as health regen and armor and and many others which I've hardly touched and the game feels about the same to me.

You know what, maybe I spoke too soon cause now just out of the blue I've just gotten upto UAC admin level and now just suddenly the hud is not working, crosshair is not working and as soon as I try to use the PDA the game crashes.... Grrrr. Up until now the game ran fine. Talk about frustrating...

Yeah, from the footage I've seen of the gameplay of Absolute HD the enemies shouldn't be moving like that. The enemies are supposed to be more realistic with the Imps jumping around, but the way they, along with the Zombies, move they are making jittery motions.

Update: Concerning my issue with the game crashing when using the PDA I've found the cause. Switching the HUD type in the Sikkmod options mid level cause the crosshair to disappear and crash the game when using the PDA upon next level load. Simply don't change the HUD type and you be all good.

I wouldn't know how to fix that, but does the same problem happen if you go full-screen? (The image you showed looks like it's in windowed mode).
