help needed on Gen Knoxx DLC Mr Shank game crashing
Hi there, I played BL2 and all DLCs (1050 hrs) at max resolution with all the details on, had a lot of fun so I got BL1 and all DLCs here at Steam. Great game, after finishing it I started Gen Knoxx DLC, passed through all the missions given till now but I´m stuck at the one at
Lockdown Palace , Killing Mr Shank . I´m level 42 and playing with Siren Lilith, ok, I go from T Bone Junction to Sunken Sea and get into Lockdown Palace , then sometimes the game freezes as I get there, sometimes after I kill a midget, sometimes I kill the first batch
of bad guys easily and turn left, as soon as more people show up the game freezes, Borderlands not responding written above at left. I´ve tried a lot of times, once I got till the claptrap and soon the guys showed up the game crashed, there´s no other way but closing it
and starting all over again from T Bone Junction. I think it´s a memory problem, but it doesnt make sense, because till I get there I go into everything all kill everybody, got power cores, fight ninjas, kill drifters etc and the game runs smoothly, but as soon as get into
Lockdown Palace...And after it crashes I open BL2 and it plays ok at max res. Already tried with BL1 in low resolution and poor graphics, same thing. Does or did anybody have this problem , any sugestions? Many thanks in advance.

Running windows 7 on a Asus M4A785TD-V Evo mob with a TripleCore AMD Phenom II X3 Black Edition B55, 3200 MHz (16 x 200), 16 mega ram 2x 8GB DDR3 -1333 ( windows+game+ chrome+steam+everything else running uses only 20%), plus a ATI Radeon HD 5700 1024 MB.No overclock and there´s no heat increasin while playin the game, the fan keeps runnin smoothly.

Open your WillowEngine.ini

Find the line FoliageDrawRadiusMultiplier

Set it to this below

FoliageDrawRadiusMultiplier=0.000000

This is the solution that worked for me. :D good luck

Thanks a lot mr. Woodcock, it worked perfectly . It was a double thriller at first, it´s gonna crash, it´s gonna crash, and then a wow of relief, not crashiiing...and then the volcano sniper made it a piece of cake. And this dlc it´s a great game, no doubt, wow, the ninjas, the cars, the power cells, flying guys, the guns at gen Knoxx armory, great fun.
Again, many many thanks.

Thanks for writing. I´d already melted one too, so at first I was worried about it, but the fan was running ok so I moved to ram problems etc.

After the conversation with Moxxi, in the highway game starts freezing and then this crashes. This seems to fix this, at least the crashes.

Thanks
Works great. I was having trouble before I got Shank, when I got Shank, and after I got Shank. I was about to give up.

Can I revert back to the original config, or will that create the same problems?
Although

Although it should not be a problem as it seemed to be a bug only with shanks part of the dlc. Go ahead and try.
Let me no

Well, I reset it back to 1 and so far no problems. Moxxies graffiti mission, Knoxx echo mission, Wanted mission (or at least killed the last person).

I wonder if it crashes because of the closeness of the fighting and the intense graphics in that fight is too much for some GPU's to handle?

Had the same problem and the fix worked for me as well. Thank you mr. Woodcock. Saw a bunch of guys looking for people to play nowdays, the bump might help some of them as well.
Never had this problem myself and it may have been corrupted files as this does occur at times with Steam Games like many others. Additionally, graphics cards and RAM issues result in system/driver crashes that the operating system notifies you of so don't get in the habit of blaming hardware. I use a GTX275 right now and Borderlands runs at Max Everything without a hiccup so graphics settings are not going to be the problem for any of you with newer crards at all. Sometimes you have to go to your Library and right click the game title and run a validation scan on your game libraries; another solution that takes care of questionable service is DEFRAG your system on occasion especially if you game alot -be sure to validate your game directories after defragging your system as this messes up some files on occasion.

I have had to re-install games in the past in Steam after a defrag and corrupted files; unfortunately I speak from experience and the downside is that it sux no matter how you cut it. Cloud-saves rule!
