Program to enable steam workshop mods on Mac OS X
I have written a small program to copy subscribed steam workshop mods for Civ V to the correct directory and extract them automatically then asks steam to launch Civ V. This effectively enables the steam workshop for the Mac version of Civ V.

the app and source code can be obtained here[]

this is only tested on mac os 10.8 and BNW. Patches are welcome.

I suppose I should mention that you still must edit the MainMenu.lua script to enable the mods menu in game.

Surely that could be scripted? C'mon man! :-) (just kidding, I see you have to edit within the .app, which I imagine isn't a simple automatic solution)

no, its simple enough to do it just wasn't my immidiate goal because I had already done that mod. I'll probably get around to doing it automatically at some point, but it is on github if somebody else wants to submit a pull request.

This is kinda old but this thing is actually really great. Thanks.

I'm glad it helped :)

Kudos for both the mod-copier and the link to the mainmenu.lua tweak. The latter definitely applies to the Linux client as well (the former possibly; I'm poking around in the Github repo to see what you did and whether or not it's feasible to port that over to non-OSX Unixen ;) ).

its certainly possible to port to Linux, however, it would be a complete rewrite of the code. The good news is the code is around 100 lines is all. See issue #1 on the github page:

Im sure you've figured it out by now, but the link in the first post has the directions.
