is this steams fault? Because my Civilization V game keeps on crashing mid game. It opens without a problem, but in-game after a few turns, it will crash (usually as I have a battle between two units). I can avoid this occasionally by saving every one or two turns, but this is tedious and is ruining my Civ experience. and is there a reason why there are two seperate patches for Mac and PC. I purchased Civ V and Gods and Kings so i could play with my counterparts online. one of them is on PC and i can't play with them because of these different patch. when can this be fixed!!

tried dx9 same thing, tried lowering the graphics on dx10, same thing, tried in window and full screen, same thing, tried deleating the game and downloading again, same thing. Starting to think it may be a fault with the game ¬_¬

my only option is to play on directx9 which i find really frustrating with the fuzzy buildings and all. dammit firaxis i love you but i hate you... thanks for the help though guys. If you still havent found a solution, saving every 2 turns should do the trick. it appears to ward off this crash.

Same problems here. Crashes every game. No way to actually enjoy the game if you have an angry crash cloud looming over your every move. Trying to get my money back from Amazon as we speak.

I agree, 13 minutes into civ 5 game play my computer just power off suddenly and I have waite 3 to five minutes before it will allow me to turn it back on. Everytime I play since lately it does that. Before i could play with no problem. Fix it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

this is the same issue I am having. sometimes I cant play 2 turns then next time I can play an hour. It seems to crash most often for me when notification windows open or close in the game. I have tried driver updates but gonna try dx9 and see what that does

I haven't been able to complete a game for some time, esp. since buying G&K expansion. Late game crashes occur very often. I use dx 9.but tried 11 as well with poor resultls have a.. quad pc 3gigs ram, 8800 gtx, game set mostly to medium and low full screen. tr

It esp crashes often when clicking on a 'move' button for a spy. :~( but can also occur at other times late in game development, ie industrial and up. Very frustrating

Starting a few days ago, I started having problems with my Civ5 install. I can start games fine but cannot load games. Every time I try to do so, the program crashes. Uninstalling and installing the program on steam doesn't seem to fix the problem, nor does restarting the computer, running the game in DX9, lowering the graphical quality, saving the game locally or to steam, and a few other things. I'm not sure what happened, but the game is now unstable to the point of being unplayable.

I have played Civ V a lot and never hade any problems with crashes. But I just startet playing Civ V again, and now it crashes every time after a short while. This is very frustraiting. It's the same PC as before, so it should work. Hope this will be fixed soon in a patch or something.
