Captured Missionaries
Is there anything worth doing with captured missionaries and prophets besides killing them?

keep'em as sick war trophies or the one in a million prophet that is still full for a landmark. Other than that the meta is tu deep; ie using a missionary to keep your mixed religion bonuses just right or a prophet to change your cities religion at the last moment to make a defense get different...just sell them for the 17ish gold instead =p

They make good pre war scouts, send them in to get an idea of someones army just before war breaks out.

Dont' forget that some beliefs work for captured missionaries, so they can be quite useful. But in some cases reformation belieif that missionaries use is yours and sometimes it's their original owner's.

At least these beliefs work for captured missionaries:

Reformation belief: Heathen Conversion
Captured missionaries can convert barbarians to your army, if YOU have the Heathen Conversion reformation belief, regardless what beliefs the missonary's owner has chosen. Heathen conversion is a very powerful when you don't need to build those missionaries by yourself, chose it when your neighbour is spamming missionaries and you want to wage war against him.

Founder belief: Initiation Rites
Captured missionaries can provide 100 gold toyou, when you convert new cities to that religion, if THEIR ORIGINAL OWNER has chosen this belief. They are best used against cities that follow some third religion, unless you want to convert your own cities. Works even if you don't have your own religion.

Founder belief: Interfaith Dialogue
Captured missionaries can provide science to you, if THEIR ORIGINAL OWNER has chosen this belief. Works even if you don't have your own religion.

If the religion they belong to has Faith buildings I can purchase, I'll convert one of my cities to that religion, buy the buildings, and convert it back with an Inquisitor. It doesn't always happen, but when it does I can rack up an extra few points of culture, faith, or happiness in a couple cities.

In the occasion that you haven't had the chance to create your own religion, use the captured missionaries to your advantage. See above (esp. Damsteri) for examples.

Click the little arrow giving you more unit actions. Click Disband (the skull). It should have a mouseover telling you how much gold you would get if you click it.

I think that religious units are worth of 0 gold when disbanded, if I remember right.
