Cursor always shows fist; also, FF quit causes crash

First off, after starting the mission "Skating on Thin Ice" (first frozen park), the cursor always shows as a 'fist'; giving orders seems to be unreliable at best, and once the heroes start attacking something, they can't be interrupted. Now, when loading earlier saves, the same problem shows up. Any ideas?

Also, FF seems to crash upon quitting. I have to tell Windows 7 to 'cancel' looking up a cause. Anyone else seeing this sort of thing?

The crashing after quitting can be resolved by running in Windowed mode and changing the screen resolution. There is no in-game option to make the game run in a window, so it has to be done through Steam. Go to Library, right click on Freedom Force, select "properties", on the "General" tab select the "set launch options" button and type this into the box "-w" (without the quotations). Next time you run the game it will run in an (admittedly small) window. That should stop the quit crashes.

Now to fix the size of the window go to Options, then video, then select your resolution as 800x600x32. The game should be in a window that's far more manageable.
