Freedom Force

Freedom Force

Games like this one?
Are there any newer games like this one... I played this one b4 a few years back and really liked it, but it took a lot of effort to get into it because the controls felt really dated. Is there a newer good game like this with more modern controls?

Have you looked into "Marvel Ultimate Alliance" for the PC? I think it's not available on Steam, but it has a similar gameplay to Freedom Force. You don't have the freedom of creating your own heroes with an individual set of powers, but as the name indicates, it featuers superheroes from the Marvel universe that smash their way through the game levels. Also, you won't need to assign tasks to each squad member individually as they're AI controlled. You can, however, toggle between the four heroes you can choose for each mission. Hope this helps.

Would love another game like this. Especially considering how popular Xcom is. I know I'm hooked.

Silent storm and Fallout Tactics are pause to issue commands style tactical games like this with options to play real time, 'turn based' or a mix of both. They both include team/equipment management and your team mates are all different with different skills. There's also X-com 2012/Enemy Within/2 but those are turn based. If you don't mind a bit of a learning curve and some modding (silent storm needs a few fixes, just message me for my reccomendations) I think you'll enjoy these too.

FTL Faster than Light is a pause to issue commands style game where you have to crew a starship which has great crew and ship customization I'd highly reccomend checking out. I could go on, but in terms of pause to issue commands style team games like Freedom Force I'd highly reccomend Silent Storm, Fallout Tactics and FTL Faster than Light, sunk hundreds of hours in them combined. I feel like these 3 games 'feel' the same as Freedom Force in my opinion. Xcom is awesome but is very strict with turn based combat and RNG
