I wish I could qualify for this. I built a new PC last week and the video card came it 2 free games (crysis 3 and Bioshock infinite) but it doesnt count as a preorder :(

I don't pre-order digital games usually, because thats stupid as hell. but i mean, free xcom, I haven't bought it yet and want to play it, 49$ value.... yea. plus bioshock and some hats, good deal imo,

My goodness. I wonder if these people that parrot this video of TB actually had an opinion about pre-order before. I like TB videos. Especially his WTF series, but come on. ACM was a bad game, but also had a troubled development. Besides, I want Bioshock Infinity, I want Bioshock 1 (I only have Bioshock 2) and I want Xcom (I played the demo and I liked) so why not pre-order?
The only thing that I think everyone should do is to not buy anything without some proper research before.

Thanks for posting that video :) There are a number of good points there.

I was one of the people who got badly burned on ACM. Now the word "pre-order" puts me in a really bad mood :)

I suppose it's a question of - how much do you trust THIS publisher? how much do you trust THIS studio? And in fact it looks like you can't trust almost any of them.

I think these tiered preorders are really bad - they're worse than anything I've fallen for. They get people emotionally involved, get them to persuade their friends to pre-purchase. You're doing the publisher's marketing FOR THEM, saving them tens of thousands of dollars, and at the end of the day all you can say is, "I got a TF2 hat, YESSSSS!"

There's this nasty cycle to preordering. First you pre-order: perhaps the marketing is great and hooks you. Or perhaps it's part of a franchise you enjoy. Maybe you read a preview from a press event. Or maybe a friend recommends it. Then you get this hyperactive anticipation before it comes out. And then it comes out, and you realise how much you have been conned.

I personally want to stay out of this pre-order cycle in future. And 2K cannot buy me with the promise of X-Com ;)

The People who refuse to pre order digital games i can understand that but look at what your getting out of the bioshock preorder!! A copy of Bioshock infinite and free copy (well not free but free with the purchase of infinite) Bioshock 1 and TF2 and XCOM all for $60. I mean cmon its not bad you have to admitt

I want bioshock, for me bioshock is the best thing after hal-life 2 , a don't care even if it get after a 100 reviews only 5/100. and i want Xcom also, the best strategiegame of the year for free that's fantastic. if i waited until summersales both these game would cost me the same price at 50% discount but now i will be able to play xcom in a week or 2,3. And i get tf2 hats haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaats i want millions of haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaats!!!!!!!!!( no, seriously about those hats i dont care much)

Let's face it though if you get the 3rd reward then you basically bought X Com and Bioshock: infinite for 50% off.

I would snap up X-COM and Bioshock infinite straight away if they went 50% off.

I agree with TB in the video but in this case the pre order incentive is pretty decent but it's only good if X-Com comes with it. For me it's a deal breaker. There will be no pre order from me until the 3rd reward is unlocked.

honestly for me i was allrdy going to pr order it cause i dont buy games based on reviews for the most part i just wasnt sure where i was gunnu pre purchase but i love steam and the bonuses (if we get them) were nice so i dont lose either way i highly doubt this game will suck i like to pre order games its fun for me idk why and ive been wanting xcom so if i can get it with a game i was allready going for then more bang for my buck i say i allrdy get 20 dollars worth of content cause of bioshock
