what does 1999 mode does ?
does it make it feel like unreal and doom?

1999 was the release year for System Shock 2 by Irrational Games.

I think they are going for the difficulty setting of 1990's games. So there will probably be less health, ammo, checkpoints. You will die fairly quick, upgrade choices are permanent, etc.

You have to complete the game once to unlock it. You don't have regenerating health so you have to find medkits/food/etc to heal yourself. Ammo is much harder to come by, and a few other tweaks to make it more difficult.

I think itd be cool if it was in black and white, but then again I play la noire in black and white abd this game seems like itd be cool in black and white go with the steampunk of it all. well not the game but the 1999 mode ( i know there was color way before that but stillllll you get my point)
