Why is the Microsoft Store beating Steam when it comes to price?

Refresh your store dude the game is right now US$45 (44.99 if you're picky) for pre-order, which i just did and with no additional charge.

I think it depends on how the developers want to price the game on certain DRM. Maybe Irrational Games agreed to sell it cheaper on GFWL compared to Steam and Amazon. Either way I really do not like GFWL as I had trouble with it for Dark Souls, Bioshock 2, and Dead Rising 2, so I hope that Bioshock Infinite is just Steamworks for Steam, and not have to worry about GFWL for the Steam version.

What? Where did you pre-order your copy for just $45?

There's a 25% off voucher code on Green Man Gaming for it today, which brings it down to $45. I'm not sure if the offer is available in all regions though.

Unfortunately on the Bioshock Infinite page it clearly says that vouchers are not valid on that product. =/

Must be a region restriction then, because I just bought it for $45. I'm in South East Asia, the Philippines.

Wow I'm suprised that the United States is region restricted, since usually the US gets all of the deals, but still that's good that you were able to get it for $45! At least here we can get $17 credit at Green Man Gaming, which is still a better deal compared to here on Steam!

Yeah, I thought that was a bit odd that the U.S. wouldn't have access to that voucher. Usually it's the other way around, where we in Asia get stuff restricted. I'm glad I found Green Man gaming when I did. I was able to get a bunch of games there that for some reason were region locked from me on Steam, like Dark Souls and Arkham City.

$60 would be great. It's $80 in Australia which makes oh so much sense considering our dollar is stronger.

I know how to get it cheaper!

If you're eager like me to play this game, Steam is the best place to buy it.
You start pre-loading the moment its possible and don't have to wait for a retail copy or a site to send you CD key.
