wtf is these ♥♥♥♥ ratings?!
10/10? are you ♥♥♥♥ing kidding me? This was a average shooter with a brilliant story and yet people rate it 10/10. Is it just me that thinks it was a 7/10? i mean beside story pretty texture and okay characters (except for the Latuce because those 2 were awesome) this game really does nothing new.

I rate it a 7/10. This game is only a third of what the first two games are. They cut out alot of the awesome things from the originals and made this game to restrictive.

i didnt play any other bioshock games until after this. And i got to say the first one was in my opinion wayyyy better in term of story, immersion and gameplay

I would put 1 ahead of this game I think but behind 2. 2 addressed some of the rookie mistakes of 1. But yeah overall this game seemed to bring less to the table than what the previous two did. 7/10 from me also.

I beg to differ, the last 3rd of the first game completely fell apart for me. It took me 2 years to go back to the game just to finish it. Another grip I have is the non-character that is Jack. As wonderful as the plot twist was, after the death of Ryan there really wasn't a reason for me to carry on aside from the typical revenge of the scorned tale. Infinite's Elizabeth makes the game much more interesting to trek through, and gave me a character that I cared about. The living world that is Columbia is also much more interesting in comparison to a dead and dystopic underwater city. In this case, Infinite was a breath of fresh air, as there are far too many dystopic/post-apocalyptic games out already.

The gameplay remains largely the same (Superpowers & Guns) for me, but there's now a rail system that compliments both the setting and the gameplay. I thought it was rather ingenius to allow the player to zip from one floatig bit of city to another. It gives you the feeling that you are actually in a floating city. Otherwise it'll just be another shooter with boundaries that stop at the edge of a map. Bioshock advanced the narrative, and I felt Infinite was just another step in the right direction in that regard. Needless to say, I gave the game a 10/10. The narrative and setting was just so grand and different, that there's just no way for me to ignore it. More importantly, this is a game that evoked discussion amongst me and my peers upon finishing it; in a way that only acclaimed movies do. How many games can you say does that?

Note:I noticed that many of the players will complaints tend to be people who enjoy RPGs or games with RPG elements (ex. Fallout, Skyrim, Dota). Bioshock has always been a shooter with small elements of RPG thrown in there, with Infinite having even a smaller amount of those elements. At times, you just have to judge a series for what it has become, and not for what it was.

For me it felt like a illusion of freedom through the entire game, like you say "I thought it was rather ingenius to allow the player to zip from one floatig bit of city to another" that for me didnt have the feeling i expected after seeing the gameplay from e3.

Yet another thread crying about scores. We didn't have enough of them
Reviews are made by people, people have opinions, they have a diferrent opinion than you.

Just to respond to your question, I think this game is a 10/10 and I also think that the gameplay was fantastic, can you handle that ?

I give this thread a 2/10 and myself 0/10 for my attempt at humor.

Now that is just not a very nice way to put even if it wasent meant as a negative repsonse. Im not trying to be a moral ♥♥♥ but im just sick of kids not basing anything on their response. :)

Here's a quote from your other similar thread, apparently your score changes everyday, interesting to see. Do you plan on making the same thread a third time ?

I give it a 9/10 because in the end this is still just "another" fps. But it was well above average

This is just my opinion what is yours? If you cant explain your opinion without being a child then please ignore this thread :-)

The forum is public for a reason, if you can't handle being confronted by someone with a differing opinion then don't post it. What Max is talking about is why people care so much about what a publication's review. If you don't agree with it, move on and find a writer with similar tastes as you. It's pretty clear that most people who enjoy games with huge elements of RPG, like Skyrim and Fallout, would find that Bioshock fell short for them, and there's nothing wrong with that. But don't get angry because a publication gave it high scores due to different preferences. They have specific people who review a specific genre of games. It's not a one man operation. A writer who prefers shooters reviews said game, a person who prefer RPGs review RPGS, etc etc. There'll never be a single unifying opinion when it comes to anything.

The point the reviews are trying to convey is that when it comes to shooters, Bioshock Infinite is a step about the rest. At it's heart, it's not trying to be open like Skyrim or Fallout, it's trying to be a linear game with an amazing story, and it exceeds in those catagories. You won't expect Metro Last Light to have the same openness as Skyrim, and neither should you expect the same from Infinite. What Infinite does try give you is open combat; there are many ways to tackle an enemy, and it mostly succeeds in that realm. Infinite's story might take place in open space, being the sky, but it's not an open world RPG.

As for you DevilHound, your opinion has clearly been swayed by the things you've read judging by the ever changing scores from your posts, but there are times when you should just form your own opinions, instead of adopting another's.

There will be more games in the future... Better games, so I think it's time to move on. In 2 years it will be, "Bioshock what?" anyways.

It's not 2 years yet my friend. Until then I'll enjoy what's available now.

And I should care for some reason what you are doing? Seems like you're posting on forums rather then enjoying your game anyways. Unless that is enjoying a game for you.
