"wipe away the debt"
I just finished bioshock infinite and have read a few forums/discussions to help make sense of the story. There is still one thing im not certain about

When they talk about the debt was it a gambling debt which was paid of in exchange for baby elizabeth/anna.

Or was it a debt to himself. By this i mean he felt guilty about selling baby elizabeth to comstok but by bringing older elizabeth to himself and the leutece's he as able to undo the act of selling her and theirfore wipe the slate clean, end the debt.

To me the second theory seams more likely because the first one would involve an unresolved plot line, that is at the end when dewit walks up to the babies crib he would still have the first debt - with someone you dont want to owe a debt to - if it existed.

Well...
At first it was a debt he gathered in your normal means, gambling and such, then later it was a guilt debt he made up in his mind.

The initial idea was that Booker had a big debt with his gambling addiction etc. Until oneday, Robert Lutece came to him and told that if he gives his girl to him, he will pay all his debts. Being in such a position, he gave her away. But after a short time, he realized what he has done, and tried to gain her back but failed. For 20 years he griefed and then Robert and Rosalind showed up and offered to get his girl back. Although when he stepped through the tear, his memories have changed from get back his girl to wiping away the debt again. So that's the whole story.

Well the second debt that he created in his mind from stepping across into another universe, whre he doesn't belong, is supposed to be a symbolic as well. The fact that he feel indebted to his daughter.

Here's my take on it.

You can see the alcohol and tickets on his desk. It's pretty obvious he had problems. He was likely in a drunken state during which he happened to become a specimen in the Lutece twins' experiment. His memory was fuzzy at best, but he remembered one message in his head; "Give up the girl and wipe away the debt". He just got it all wrong.

He was given a chance to see and experience what could be the results of his choice of giving up the baby (becoming Combstock and so forth). In the end, this version of Booker was able to make his choice knowing what might happen if he did.

He might also have imagined the whole thing :)

Thats a good theory. Though, why would the luteces vist him and give him this vision while working for comstock?

I would guess they eventually saw the madness of it all and tried to set it straight?

But, if what you are saying is true, the experemented on him BEFORE they took anna, to show him not to sell her.

Right, they went back to before he chose to give her up. ?

This text seem to explain things well:

The point is that they wanted to close to loop. The Luteces are trapped across space and time. They are neither living or dead. Rosalind was perfectly fine with this, but the male version of herself is not, so they've been taking the Bookers from many different universes to stop Comstock. It wasn't just about not giving Anna away. It's about stopping everything from the happening in the first place.

The Zachary Comstock Wiki Page [bioshock.wikia.com] gives a better explanation of everything, and now it makes sense to me. I hope you beat the game before reading or it will spoil a lot.

I have a question. Who left the note on the outside door on the lighthouse about wiping Booker's debt? Also who killed the man living in the lighthouse? I would think it was set up by the Luteces except for the response they give to Booker's question about where he is being that they don't really know.

So many questions and so few answers, the plot was slashed and slash and the slashed abit more, we will never know why.

Maybe they it got to controversial even for an 18 rated game or because the delays let other Unreal 3 engine games come out first.

At least in one of the multiversity its let 2K have some fun with us, the one with sex’s swapped over so if you are a girl in one you, are a boy in the other.

You know NOT TWINS (any relationship is OK)

The Luteces 2Ks way for us to, go and screw ourselves (Will probably be in the DLC),

Of course Booker would be a girl in that one and not have been in the army so not at wounded knee and is daughter would be is Son and ...blast my nose is bleeding and song chicken is in the cheerio’s again.

If you can't deduce the small details to the story, such as who posted the note on the lighthouse (it was the Luteces by the way), after reading all the explanations posted online, then you really must be that much of a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ idiot. I suggest that you check out games that literally hold your hand through every step of the way, such as iCarly or Putt Putt Saves the Zoo. Maybe your stunted mind can finally follow a plot. You remind me of one of those movie caricatures with a middle school education that shows up at a guided tour only to spread your ilk everywhere. Maybe it's about time that you realized that you're just too thick to understand anything more complicated than 2 + 2.
