To people overly-criticizing this game
We get it, you think that pointing out the flaws in this game makes you look smart. That's cute.

It's not a perfect game, shocker I know...but wait, I never expected it to be.

After seeing some reviews from some youtubers and their legions of sheeple copy-pasting their thoughts, all the joy that I had from playing this game is now gone...oh wait, no it isn't.

It happens whenever there is something popular. Basic adolesence psychology which sadly many don't outgrow. Coping mechanism for the alienation of youth. Convincing yourself that you are smarter or have a better grasp on quality than the masses is impowering albeit dilusional. Nothing you can do about it. Let them pat themselves on the back. They'll outgrow it eventually... or not.

Agree completely.

People judge to harshly and expect everything to be perfect in every aspect, I personally thought this game was superb and it was one of the best stories I got to experience, more games need to focus on the story and atmosphere instead of heavily on graphics and gunplay.

You say your joy is still there, yet you feel the need to make this thread for what reason? Most people like to poiint out the faults because most reviewers, who get paid to do just that, haven't.

One thing is to review the game objectively. Another thing is to insinuate that everyone that bought and enjoyed this game is an idiot because "this game is not as good as you think it is" as one of the most popular threads in this forum says.

I don't need pseudo-intelectuals to tell me that their opinion is better than mine. That's not reviewing, that's self glorification.

Same thing happened with portal 2. If a considerable portion of people consider a game to be the best game ever made and the metacritic goes that high, people seem to feel obliged to make it clear that they don't think the same.

I had no idea telling people I thought the Elizabeth-thing had a too-huge head for her body made me look smart!

OR DID I? (dramatic organ music)

Spot-on. I fully agree.

I loved the game. I argue with people who don't. not because I think their opinion matters, but because I love being argumentative.

The truth is, this game is great. Anyone who comes at it honestly will come to the same conclusion. It is not perfect, but nothing is. It is just great. Absolutely great.

They have right to fifteen minutes of glory and the drama, do you know?, how you dare?

Pointing out a game's flaws in the presence of outright admiration that ignores them is a perfectly valid thing to do.

If you take issue with people that claim your opinion is worse than theirs, fine. That's valid. No one likes that.

But to actively ignore a product's flaws is folly. In human relationships, they have a word for that.

It's called Infatuation.

I agree with you OP. Too many reviewers are trying to nitpick the hell out of this game just so they can seem smart and stand out in the crowd. If it was any other game these almost non existent issues wouldn't be mentioned in the first place

It's okay to point flaws, but just look at this new wave of reviewers that are trying to be negative about Infinite just to gain attention, it's painfully obvious

A two weapon limit that directly contradicts the other game mechanics? A story that relies on a false understanding of multiverse and invokes time paradoxes? Central combat that clashes heavily thematically with the relatively interesting story?

These are what you judge to be almost non-existent issues? They may not be major sure but most people bringing them up don't claim they are.

I would really hate to see what you consider significant.
