The whole thing is a Dream [SPOILERS]
The after credits ending just shows that the whole thing was a dream to convince Booker not to give away Anna. Comstock represents himself being a horrible father for giving her up, along with other characters representing as Booker's other aspects. That would also explain why Elizabeth looks like a Disney Princess (when everyone else look somewhat realistic). The drowning represents Anna never forgiving her father for giving her up, and the whole multiple doorway represents that Booker has a choice. Along with many others.

What does everyone else think about this theory?

Simple enough to be the bloody Truth ^^

I think from Booker DeWitt's perspective it might seem like a dream, assuming that he remembers everything in the bit that follows the credits (which I presume is the case based solely on the tone of his voice as he checks in on baby Anna). Given that Booker also visits (briefly) Rapture then I think it is fair to say it was not a dream as he wouldn't have known about that city as it wasn't built in 1912.

I'm intrigued as to what DLC is planned for this game though given the ending. It would be a shame if that was the last we saw of Elizabeth, although I'm not sure how they could bring her back since the entire finale basically wipes her out of existence and it is Anna who gets to grow up in her place, having no knowledge of Columbia or powers or a missing finger!

Impossible.

Booker couldn't possibly accurately dream the future, and we see the future through the rifts (Paris) and hear it via the old-timely versions of modern pop songs.

It absolutely cannot be a dream.

Again, nope because Booker couldn't accurately dream the future:

Paris and Return of the Jedi
Rapture
Pop songs

That's it.

Those where just easter eggs. Therefore they were not really there.

Interesting theory. I don't think that's what happened but interesting theory.
Also, that movie was titled "Revenge of the Jedi". The trailers show the title in English. I'm guessing they did that on purpose to emphasize that the future may not be bright.

I don't think it is a dream.. i think the ending signifies that things are back to where booker can make the right choice and will make the right choice. i don;t even care if it doesn't make sense. it makes sense to me and im stickin to that lol

They were not just Easter Eggs.

What a silly thing to write.

True, I'm just pointing this out for anyone who doesn't agree with the other theories that others are pointing out.

@ALL: It's not a dream because Booker got drowned by Anna before he had her as his daughter thus Anna didnt exist to drownd him resaulting in an Infinite Loop to where it started all over again! That's what the tease ment at the end of the credits and thats why she faded after the drounding too! ;)

P.S. The thread topic title has spoilers...

Actually that's where I got the idea that the whole thing was a dream. Anna drowning Brooker was a nightmare that woke him up.

Revenge of the Jedi was the original name of the movie before it was changed to Return of the Jedi. I've noticed an increase of people not being aware of that little fact.

We don't see "our" Liz fade.

Booker in the epilogue is very clearly confused and surprised, like he's aware he should 't be where he is and realises suddenly what it might mean...

I think this shows us "our" Booker has been sent back by Liz.

Liz is still alive, existing outside of space time.

Anyway, that's another debate entirely... the point here is the dream theory is absolutely not true because Booker couldn't possibly dream the future and we see/hear the future throughout the game.

How do you know she doesn't fade, the screen cuts to black the moment she would've faded away at the key stroke. So really it's possible she did and it's possible she didn't. You can't say for sure.
