buying preorder and friend buying xcom and bioshock 1 off me. How do I do it?
I'm thinking I buy the preorder and then gift him the two games and he throws cash at me for them. But do I buy for myself or whole thing as a gift? and then just put it in my inventory? Will all three items show up separately in the inventory so I can keep infinite, and gift away xcom and bioshock? (I don't already own xcom and bioshock 1 on steam - want to make sure it won't force me to keep them)

Thanks.

IF YOU BUY FOR SELF:
1. If you do not own BioShock, it'll automatically be added to your games library, and cannot be traded. If you already own BioShock, you can find it in your Inventory.

2. If you do not own XCOM: Enemy Unknown, it'll automatically be added to your games library, and cannot be traded. If you already own XCOM: Enemy Unknown, you can find it in your Inventory.

3. Team Fortress 2 items are accessible once you launch the game, they're currently Not Tradable, but they'll be tradable later, most likely after the game's launched. (March 26th.)

IF YOU GIFT THE GAME FOR HIM/HER
S/he'll get the bonuses the way applied above.
Ok. you will have to pre order as a gift then or else it will automatically but bioshock 1 and xcom in your inventory. However you will have to also give him bioshock infinite as it comes as a complete set, cant just sell the 2 games alone. Atleast i think.
ok so buy as gift and then put in inventory is the best bet, but then I will probably just see one item or all three to send 2 to him and one to me?
has anyone out there tried this yet?
You get it as a gift. It will be a pre order gift. Once you give bioshock infinite preorder gift to friend the rewards will be put on his account. Note he will get all 3 games + tf2 hats, You wont get any of the games and CANNOT get bioshock infinite then trade the games since you still dont have bioshock 1 or xcom
The way these things normally work means the ONLY way to give them away is to already own them. If you gift it he will get Bioshock as well which kinda defeats the point. There may be a way around it but I don't know one

Having bought this to a friend, I can guarantee you that it's one item. BioShock Infinite, the person who opens the gift, gets the rewards applied the way I wrote above. If s/he doesn't own any of them, they'll be in library and NOT TRADABLE.
Or I would recommend doing it this way. Buy it as add to inventory on your friends account. That way the preorder bonuses automatically go to his account and when bioshock infinite is added to his inventory he can thhen gift it to your account. I think that this would most likely be the most error free way.
well, I want bioshock inf so I think I'm getting the whole pkg - not a big interest in XCOM but I will still get some use out of it I'm sure. My buddy is still looking for just XCOM, so if anyone has extra copies of xcom after the preorder and doesn't have anyone they want to give it to, let me know.
thanks everyone for your speedy responses! not sure what else needs to be said on this matter. You've all been great!

Thanks.

When you pre-order BioShock Infinite, it's BioShock Infinite in your inventory - the bonuses aren't there in your inventory with BS:I.

Bonuses go in inventory only if the person who opens the gift already owns BioShock or XCOM: Enemy Unknown, otherwise they'll be tied to the account the moment they open the BioShock: Infinite gift.

In otherwords, it doesn't work.

Sorry anyhow. I hope your friend'll get an XCOM from someone, or find it somewhere for cheap, maybe you can play it together then even.
